That is simply not true, IMHO. Some traders make money using popular indicators. Some traders lose... luck could be a big factor... money management too. Thats all. I don't believe in "secret uncommon knowledge" which can give you outstanding profits.

ddefina: welcome to the beautiful world of optimization! Impressive results, too good to be true, IMO. What's the slippage and commissions? I agree with dottom, who said that systems should be tested with severe slippage. If they survive this test, they're good.

See attached file. 6 minutes with no quotes, while there's green "OK", no errors. Without TWS quotes you can be in deep trouble. I can't rely on fully automated trading with such a reliability.
