No offense to any German's on this board but I've never been happier to hear them say anything than I have been today.

I'm resigned to the fact that this will always from now on be a distraction, so long as government exists and idiots continue being elected. If Republicans take control then maybe we can relax a little bit more but I think we'll have to keep fighting this for a very long time.

Spreads would widen dramatically, and like I just said, don't for one second think the 0.25% (0.5% round trip) tax on stocks would impact futures trading in a big way, stop thinking this is "somewhat manageable" because the unintended consequences that some of you are missing are IMMENSE.

The 0.25% tax on stock transaction would screw absolutely everything up, don't for one second think there wouldn't be unintended consequences in the derivatives market.

The article doesn't make it clear if it's per transaction or per year.

Would it also be 0.02% for stock transactions? Or nothing for stock transactions at all?I could live with 0.02%

"Large" has been used several times before and they considered large $100k worth of transactions per year... to put that into perspective I've made $2.6 million dollars worth of transactions today and the day is only half over.

I'm actually stopping to trade today to write into every single person and entity I can think of, I recommend you all do the same thing before we no longer have the option to stop trading for a day because we won't be trading at all.

I hope that's accurate but I'm not convinced they know more than we do.

I really think Obama and the administrations commentary over the next several days is going to be very telling after meeting with the EPI and their union thugs. I really do think they'll have to address the tax as it will be pushed in the meeting and we'll really know where O and his boys stand.

The EPI is meeting with the Pres tomorrow, right? I think a lot will be cleared up after that.
