I had 3 Seagate 500 GBs fail in less than a year where as 4 WDs never had a problem & 2 of them ( 250 GBs) are 6 years old. Mechanical failures so there is nothing much you can do. I tried changing controller card & didn't help. I would never buy a Seagate again.

You are right, I am taking a chance but if it doesn't work I have decided to build from scratch as per your 4 PCIe x 16 slot suggestion. Also it gives me a little hope that older Dell is running 6 monitors.
