    Intermediate-term trading

Good that you saw and ececuted in the gold miners , emerging markets. New people sometimes see and execute without doubt than do more experienced. Keep this a positive experience and dont give back your profit. Become a trend follower in time. Do you have a tested exit strategy? An amateur...

Correct time to go all in? Best period to trade

Miners have been on a tear , especially Friday. Maybe this is what he means. Ore price increase expected. China stimulus. Steel producers rampedon this etc.. Commodity space on China speculation/squeeze had a big week. Gold as well. I was all over this....by Saturday.

The effect of good news and bad news?

You would have to observe/participate in a market correctly discounting future expectations today. Then the expected big event comes and price may surprisingly stall or reverse. This normally, for me anyway, is beyond retail knowledge and resources so price is followed and traded. It does not...

Why do traders still use lagging indicators?

Take the stick out of your ass. Its not that complicated. You are lumping a very valid test of lead/lag relationships between AAPL and an Index with nonsense. Displaced Ma's ?

Why do traders still use lagging indicators?

The OP and hundreds others may have adopted this belief from a rare (5% ) trader who truly walked the miles from profitabbly trading with indicators to MORE profitably trading without them. And, it may be only a fraction of that 5% that decide to walk that way. Why is trading without...

Why do traders still use lagging indicators?

Would you design a filter for high frequency noise and apply it when there is very little noise. Maybe switch to bar by bar analysis when noise diminishes. Implies adaptable filters and proper application. In electrical terms , use hysterisis (schmitt trigger) in noise and dont otherwise. Easier...

    Looking for an apprentice

I would think that he would have to demonstrate a modicum of expertise in what he offers. Float generic system B to the trainer, learn what he can offer, later apply to your own A system. Both parties get what they want and it ends there. Whats the risk?

    the londonkid report

Emerging Markets - Opportunity or Money Pit?

What would it take to rally EM? Oil rally and expected USD weakness come to mind right away.

Emerging Markets - Opportunity or Money Pit?

EEM prices have been firmer, stronger than US, Japan and Europe for 2016. Negative focus or attention seems to have shifted somewhat to G3 currencies and equities recently. It is surprising that EEM can outperform G3 for weeks to months but it does not last. Maybe we are just in one of those...

Gold going parabolic has in the recent past, since 2008, maybe a few times, prompted increases on margin requirements causing an unexpected collapse. She a bitch goin down.

How exactly does negative interest on government bonds work?

Credit cards are still 14 to 25% in ZIRP . 14% with excellent credit. Unlilely to chamge woth ZIRP. But, if we get a credit for a mortgage i guess banks would have to be subsidized by the government or fed.

How exactly does negative interest on government bonds work?

Do you want to be a bond holder or a bag holder? Tomorrows higher yielding bond/note trashes the value of todays lower yielding note/bond. The fed raising short term rates is forcing sales of short term note bag holders. Those who own yetserdays lower yielding note see its falling price and...

    Resumption of Daytrading

Nursebee, I see some of your trades are sub $10 stocks? Much has been written/said that things are quite different in recent times, getting fooled and filled, only when it is not to your advantage. My question is ... was it pre-2008ish when you last day traded these sub $10 stocks , and...

How exactly does negative interest on government bonds work?

Government debt, reserve, and other deposits at a little less than 0% may be a good relative return compared to .....'fill in the blank' investment. I read on ET that 95% cant do better. Cue for EMG .

Alhambrapartners.com has a recent article , sorry cannot locate at this time, about PBOC use of swaps, currency futures and other exotics for maximum effect and minimum FX drawdown. Implies that quaterly, (August,December, etc..) there may be uneven , amplified effects on reserves. It was a...
