    JMBA undervalued

(yes...sorry, this about investing) Somebody tell me why they don't believe JMBA is now very much undervalued? The company recently warned that it won't be growing as fast next year as they originally wanted. I say GOOD!!! Their earnings weren't as good as they wanted this most recent...

oh...another thing pai. If you're just looking for diversification. You should really just look for an index fund. Low expenses and to be honest, you'll get very similar results. If you want a sit back and "less" worry approach, that is the best alternative.

Your portfolio will probably perform about the same as a world index. If your goal is to match a world index, than it's probably good enough. If you want to peform better than a world index, you are over diversified with the ETF's and mutual funds.

What have I been telling you?

I wonder if that was the shake out for the financial sector? Damn...these prices are just so tempting for a long-term value investment. I think I'll dip my toe in to CFC. You have to think that a company like this that has been around for 20 years doing this has to have at least a first clue...

    Stock Trad3r INDEX

Precisely, hence his claim that they "go up huge" is complete hogwash. They HAVE to go up huge. Risk-adjusted, growth doesn't outperform the market by "huge" amounts. And especially right now, the risk is extremely high. His picks better do about 20% in the next 2 months to justify the risk...

Umm...so...the clients of the market makers don't care which way the stock goes? Surely you know that there is much more to how a market maker operates than strictly scalping don't you? Well...I've got news for you. The big clients of the market makers that want to move millions of shares in...

You see, that's where my frame of mind works a bit differently. I look at the sector that a company operates in. I wouldn't have said RIMM was over-valued and I hadn't said it was overvalued during the bull market of the last 5 years, because the atmosphere was ripe for technology companies to...

    Stock Trad3r INDEX

haha...you have no idea how overpriced RIMM is. What you're seeing is attempts by market makers to keep the price stable. I've noticed that slowly over the last 12 weeks, there have been a few downgrades by analysts. One by one, they are slowly going to start downgrading it. RIMM has a huge...

Jim Rogers on Bernanke: "He is a total fool"

And where do you think the growth in US business was financed from? It certainly wasn't those communist regimes that you mention. The fact is that the communist regimes provided no benefit whatsoever. As they tried to influence more countries into communism, they actually hurt economic growth...

Jim Rogers on Bernanke: "He is a total fool"

Exactly...most people who have a hard time grasping how economics work think that "losing" jobs is always a bad thing. It's only a bad thing if it actually decreases employment while causing inflationary effects on price. The fact is that the US is at full employment. We actually benefit by...

Jim Rogers on Bernanke: "He is a total fool"

Jim Rogers appears to be the bigger fool. Even though the US has a trade deficit, it still BY FAR the biggest exporter in the world. The declining dollar means more exports which should increase the GDP for the US, thus creating new jobs through the increased demand for US goods. This then...

Eddie Lampert backs up the truck on Citigroup

If the price of a stock is already below or near book value of tangible assets and the debt is covered, there's very little risk in averaging down on losers. The valuation of the company hasn't changed, therefore, for a value investor, further declines in price are actually great opportunities...

Is This The Worst Of The Worst

I'm buying, but I'm also not a fool. I EXPECT downside on all my buys. Anybody who doesn't see the glaring cracks in the economy is in denial. I reduce my risk by only buying value stocks.

I'd like to hear your answer to this question. What fundamental basis do you make those claims? Let's hear some meat. Don't give the "they always go up" answer, since you invest in growth stocks, give an analysis on RIMM and AAPL which justifies buying them no matter what price they're at...

Rotation out of TECH into Financial

Here's a lesson for you. The financials are a leading indicator of the shape that the economy is in. If the financials bite it as they've been doing, lending is going to be greatly reduced. Additionally, with very little confidence at the moment in the financials, consumers are going to be...

Rotation out of TECH into Financial

Financials will definitely be the next position/sector play, but it's still a bit too early for full blown positions. You might be able to eaaaassseeee into a position now, but financials usually start to perform when the market as a whole has bottomed. What this means is that the carnage needs...

    I'm done trading. I FAILED

my advice pumpanddumper and it'll probably go against most of the traders here: Your positions that you are "holding", I wouldn't worry too much about them. Basically, I would keep the long positions as long as they are decent companies and the stock is over $7. Liquidating your stocks at...

Oh ok gotcha..yeah paying somebody money to tell you the next big thing won't get you anywhere. You're better off just watching what the good mutual funds are buying in the desired class of stocks you want and then using that as a guide as opposed to paying somebody that knows nothing really...
