    Another one hangs it up

Great advice. You've also gained a lot of valuable experience that cannot be put down on a resume or "pedigree." That will serve you well, no matter what you do, and an employer will also benefit big time. Why? Because you've demonstrated that you can work and produce independently, you do not...

    Jesse Livermore

Surely Livermore had a sort of genius. But after one too many blowups he was tired. And realized, that after all, he contributed nothing to anyone. He succeeded at points in time as a trader because of his genius. His human flaws were too great and that is what took him down as a trader...

    Live Cattle Soybeans(meal too) Wheat

If you are "dabbling" and only down 3% you are doing well. It takes years, and experience through multiple market cycles, to get a handle on these markets. IMO much easier to trade than financial markets.

    Deutsche bank retail fx platform

If it is in-house trading, sure. By definition it makes it a bucket shop regardless of the name on the front of the door. So far it looks like it is the same model as bucket shops, but with a fancy name. The game is the same.

    Live Cattle Soybeans(meal too) Wheat

GF, so right you are. While all chase the gold and oil and volatility increases -- even if the overall trend remains up -- those markets are fire. The average trader will have a tough time participating without major burns. Buying LC or Corn or Wheat over the last weeks was a lonely game...

    Quadriga Superfund - Managed Futures

Not ONE of their products has been around for a decade. In fact, I don't think you will find a history longer than three years for anything they offer. Maybe they do make money. Based on the public information it is not possible to ascertain that. And that is the real issue. Like I...

    Quadriga Superfund - Managed Futures

At this moment in time (and as I write this, their returns might even be much higher). But investors are not buying into a moment in time, (hopefully) but instead a return over time. It is not possible to know what Qaudrigia returns over time are, as they market their fund with an index of...

Any possibility of centralized spot forex?

The spot FX market is vast and serves many different participants and needs. The futures serves only the economic purpose of hedging FX exposure in the cash. The speculators, creating liquidity in the FX futures market , are the necessary players, just like they are in the physical commodity...

Any possibility of centralized spot forex?

Thanks, yes, I am aware of that. But it is a only plan and does not yet exists. Still on paper and not a reality. It will be great if this comes to pass. If it does, some think it will be about as successful as exchange traded stock futures. I have no thoughts where it could go.

Any possibility of centralized spot forex?

Of course not. If you want centralized clearing, trade the future contract.

    Unethical Conduct by IB

I still do not understand why so many are attracted to the forex cash market where there is no centralized clearing. FX is tough enough without having to deal with the ever changing logistics of an unregulated, decentralized market.

    trend following delusion shattered

That alone sums up THE successful trading method. Of course, trading what you know makes money for you can only be based on lots of experience. If you are not willing to invest in that, a trader is doomed. So, get the experience (years of trading and watching the markets) and trade...

    Fidelity Active Trader Service

If you are an IB user and need/want the sort of technology IB offers for equity execution, you are not a candidate for Fidelity. Essentially, IB is selling their very good execution platform. If you want more than just a platform, the Fidelity Active Trader package/product is very...

You would need an Introducing Broker registration with the NFA (unless you are an overseas IB) and IB relationship with an FCM(s). How and what is handled by the FCM is between you and the FCM.

    If Not Scottrade, Then Who?

So far so good. Their active trader platform is excellent and they have a dedicated and responsive support staff. Not the absolute cheapest in the industry, and maybe not for the very high volume trader, but worth looking at for the active retail trader.
