    You dirty rat!

Here ya go. Bloomberg freebie: Year of Rat May Portend Losses in Asian Stocks, Astrologers Say By Chen Shiyin Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Chinese astrologer Tony Tan, a former broker at DBS Securities, made money for his clients in 2007 by telling them Asian equity markets would turn in...

Agreed. Wretched. However check the 60 min ES to see what one might anticipate. JH says for the IT (intermediate trend) always look to the 60 min ES. The beauty of discretionary trading is that one allows oneself to be apprised. lj Yellow horizontal = Lateral Movement

    Do Trendlines work?

I couldn't agree more that data points are required in the construction of a trendline. It is permissable to convert the "hard, right edge" into a "hard, right, gaping chasm" simply by increasing the amount of void space after the the last price marker on your realtime chart. lj

    Do Trendlines work?

A standard reference for the technique to be used to draw a trendline is to be found in Victor Sperandeo's book "Trader Vic- Methods of a Wall Street Master". It is specific and objective in the sense that if one adheres to the protocol he outlines, there is no room for artistic interpretation...

STR-SQU update. For a quick fix on the "functional" offset (functional = indexarb +/- smart$) look for a YM 2pair at any time of the day. If you are "2pairing", the offset should be at the "zero" of the 2pair. My best guess so far and as always, SAW. lj...

Vorzo, A similar situation occurs, IMO, when you have a very narrow range bar [low money velocity] with an "inappropriately " high volume. Both cases should alert one to anticipate change. lj

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

Anyone else using QT having problems setting up a YM range chart with range = 1, the tick value for YM? Whenever I try to do it resets to 2 and I swear I've gotten it to work in the past. A 0.25 bar range works fine for ES. TIA lj

That might be a "contextual" component no doubt a consequence of the smart$ selling off early so as to be able to spend an even longer weekend with their yachts, mistresses, bags of money, etc. Thanks for the deconvolution. lj

If I didn't know better I would surmise (incorrectly) that you are being intentionally vague, which is both cool and constructive. The point being that last Friday's first 3 bars of the 5 minute EMH8 did show a monotonic falloff in volume, without chromoconsistency, but with no clear "M" or "W"...

Spyder, Does the falloff in volume have to be smooth - V1>V2>V3 [#1] or can it show V1 lower than V2 but V3 lower than V1 and V2 [#2]? TIA lj

Spyder, Does a lateral movement have to begin with a pennant or can one call something like the 10:50-11:00 AM threesome in today's ES, a lateral movement (I did a search and did not find anything explicitly stated)? Also, this particular one began with an outside bar but I don't think this...

Partial quote from WGTrader: I have attached a zipped file of several snapshots of the last big down move of the day. I have superimposed the Bid Wall and Ask Wall on the 1-min ES chart so that one can see how the wall moves as well as breaks-down. I find that having the bid and ask walls...
