Do you have a target for downside today? My levels are thrown off now. Not exactly sure where I want to get back in again. I'm flat for now.

Way to get out of that long. They never got to the 50 day so far. The reason why I decided to fade the run up today.

Thanks S2, just using the mindset of buy the dippers, but waiting for them to run it up. No heat taken today. I'm most likely done for today. I got the trade I wanted !! Can't ask for a better set up.

Thanks Romik, I just read all the war of words since Friday on this thread. Quite unfortunate since this thread seems to be free of name calling. Anyways, Im getting ready to trade the Nikkei futures so I'm done on this thread till Monday morning.

I always log in 2 hours before they open on Sundays. I noticed some big sell orders and decided to jump it short because of the momentum to the downside in the last few days. Like I said I only look for short trades and this looked juicy !! Im flat now. Going to wait for the open manana.

Anything that limits a loss is a hedge. I was short @ 1324.75 5/5, didnt cover for a 2 pt gain. However when it started to to trade above 1324.75(previously a 6 yr hi), I knew we were in an uprtrend. At that point I could lock in the loss. Instead I bought Ym(this highly rare for me btw)...

Trust me, I rarely and I mean rarely go long. I agree hedging limits gains, but also losses too. Last Friday was just an exception, as I dont know how to read longs accurately. And yes the equity markets rarely trend nowadays which is why I hardly never feel the need to hedge. In fact it was...

Nothing really to do with the range, just that in an up trend the 10 dow points equate to 1 sp point. It locks in the maximum you can lose when you enter the other side. Why not lock in? I was in at near 6 year his which is good enough for me to justify an entry. Like I said the entry worked...

Digging thru a prior post here. The hedge last Friday to protect my short was jumping long on YM. Think of it as a crutch. 10 points on the ym contract is 50 dollars. One point on the ES is 50 dollars. My hedge comes in when they keep breaking thru resistance constantly. When the market...
