The most successful automated system in the world

I don't mean you any disrespect, but anyone with a system that good is not going to give it away or even give you a hint about it's methodology.

Muslim Gays Seek Lesbians For Wives

Wow. Gay virgins are pretty hard to come by these days. It is kind of a paradox. No gay sex while you're alive, but help yourself to all you want in heaven after you're dead. Traveler

Moving into an apartment as a trader...

Don't worry too much about credit. Kids your age in college rent apartments all the time. Keep asking until you find an apartment you like where they will take you. The only "tough" apartment leases are in cities where rent is really high like NYC or SFO. Or Chicago where they can't kick you...

    This "edge" stuff

Having a car that can fit into parking spots too small for SUV's is an edge. Especially if everyone in your city drives SUV's but you.

Moving to the US from the UK

You will find it suprisingly difficult to come over here legally, despite the presence of tons of illegal immigrants. If you're trading you could probably live over here as a perpetual tourist since your investment activities don't require a work visa. If you are serious about obtaining...

big cheap money. Where to get?

I'm betting the OP isn't going to put his leveraged 1 MM cash into an instrument of the same duration and risk. He could probably build the same position in the derivatives market without doing all the borrowing. Traveler

    The Evolution of a Trader

That seems to be the big advantage to trading over regular job. It's way more difficult to scale your IT skills up without starting your own company. In trading you just add leverage and work the same hours. Traveler

    How easily distracted are you?

I'm a night owl, so I get up for the open, then do other stuff or go back to sleep, then monitor the last hour and the day's executions.

big cheap money. Where to get?

If you can go for 3 MM you can borrow from IB. They lend at LIBOR + .25% for debit balances of 3 MM or more. That would be roughly 5.25% right now. This assumes your bonds are marginable. You're making a huge bet on the yield curve if you try to borrow short-term to pay for long-term bonds...

Any possibility of centralized spot forex?

Strict time and price priority for exchange orders can't really help the big players much.

Can't bring myself to leave my job.

I almost forgot. When I was on the cusp on success I took a 3 month leave from my job to try it out fulltime. If your company has a policy for leaves it won't really matter what you tell them, as long as it's not to go work for a competitor.

Can't bring myself to leave my job.

I do not consider myself a professional trader, but I did quit a lucrative "real job" to go into professional gambling. Wish I had done it months earlier than I did. The signs are... 1. You've already made your year's salary and the year is not even halfway over. 2. You start noticing...

    Is my career over?

You guys are assuming that the guy's account represents his total risk capital. He can size to his overall risk tolerance rather than just the margin money in his account if he wants. Traveler

It would appear I left $10/share profit on the table, but I wasn't inclined to hold into earnings. I got out at $167. The big gap open on high volume (probably peak today) was enough for me. What do you guys think?

My dilemma - too good to be true? How long can I last?

Keep it up Cheetah. You are taking on a higher level of risk than many here would like, judged by their comments on the thread. But as long as you are ok with it, more power to you. If you do happen to get blown out in a black swan event you can always build up another stake and start over...

    Vonage IPO

I like Vonage but they do have a lot of competitors. Vonage probably is the best mainstream option for non-techie VOIP applications. They are the AOL of voice over IP.

    High End Screen Trading Equipment

You should put it on ebay. Don't even bother trying to sell to a bunch of bargain hunters here. I am constantly amazed at the stupidity of e*bay buyers. They consistently overbid on computer hardware, as long as it is packaged as a turnkey system. Once you break it down into parts you are...
