You just put the ip address instead of the computer name. You don't have to specify the port for XP remote desktop unless you've changed it from the default. ie 192.168.1.1;3381
If you have more than one machine behind your router you will have to put them on different ports and forward them.
I've had one since about 1998. They are expensive upfront compared to a low-end (any kind of Office Depot chair) but you get what you pay for. They have a 10 year warranty. That's only $60 per year.
I have had to have mine repaired only once. I let a 300 lb friend sit in it and he broke it...
The backtesting has to specifically match the rules. I'm working with the Amibroker code and the results vary widely depending on what universe you run it on. It is designed to pick up trends following volume surges in low-float stocks. If you run it on stocks with heavy volume it bombs. In...
I'm partial to IB, but it wouldn't be practical for a small account due to the tiered interest on cash balances and the $10 monthly minimum fee.
They are very flexible and you can invest it in just about any publicly traded security. Just no mutuals, unfortunately.

I don't think I would have the stomach to hold a 750 lot. That's 37,500 a point, 9375 a tick. Maybe with tape covering up the P/L and only looking at it in points.
The armed forces hardly condone it under the current policy.
Imagine allowing heterosexuals into the armed forces only if they never spoke of their partners or any sex acts they did at home. That female photo over your bunk better be your sister or you're getting kicked out.
I totally...
I think it is important to figure the difference in tax rates. For someone with a decent income, paying private insurance is a better deal. Now if you have a low income, the value of the government health plan is basically fixed so it becomes a greater percentage of your income.

I'm with you, buylo. Easier to be aimless when you're young and poor. I'm on the reverse plan and unraveling as I get older. But it's not as much fun with a 40yo body rather than 20ish.

If you have the money and refuse to pay, you can be jailed for contempt of court. They can garnish your wages, seize your financial and non-financial assets. Better to just file bankruptcy than to openly defy the court.
Of course, if you have no assets, they can't take them.
I just sold a HP xw9300 workstation (Dual Opteron 3.0's, 2gb, 2x73gig scsi, dual DVI) for $900 on ebay. I'm sure you could buy something comparable to that or cheaper pretty easily. It even had 1 yr factory warranty left on it.
I'm curious as to why. Building your own white-label brokerage using IB? Or maybe you have traders working for you who you don't want poking around your account balances?
Rather than run it on another server, you could run IB in a vmware window somewhere. It would be isolated but you could...
I went to WKU for nothing to do with trading. I majored in Broadcasting and worked in the TV production business right out of school. Lived in Nashville until about 3 years ago when I relocated to New Orleans.
I am just finishing up a 5 year career as a professional gambler and now I am...
You don't need college to trade at a prop, but it is an excellent backup plan. Plus, at your age you are liable to change your mind a few times along the way.
You are going to an excellent school, but I am a biased source since I went there myself.
