Who are you as a Trader?

Who am I as a trader. Let's see, my goals are good intentioned. I want to be able to buy my parents a house here in the states and also put my sister through college. The glamorous lifestyle does not motivate me, I'm driven to be financially independent and by the freedom that comes with it...

    Any AMD bull here?

AMD technicals turned around and starting to look good. Look for a small pullback for entry or try to get in around 15.25 or so if it doesn't, cause it can just base there. I'm a champion of tight entries :D

You've basically described a bucket shop. You put up money for margin and there's little room for error. Wheeee.

Is it realistic to average $17.50 a day trading YM with 3.5k ??

Sure, why not. Definitely doable. Depends on your setup and your edge. Best of luck.

Able to recognize good trading Opportunities....

hang in there, it's hard with a smaller account. my 2k account had a max winner of about $500 so far trade per-share pricing for large stocks, but i recommend low-priced stocks with flat-fee commish. i pay $10 a trade, 20 roundtrip

    Hand-me downs

I remember when I first started I wasn't thinking on the same plane that I am now, and I was very close-minded. I came to realize (thru the market wizards books) that really anything with a greater than 50% probability constitutes an edge. The more probable the event, the bigger the edge...

Best option for a BIG POWERFUL COMPUTER

Also, with 8gb of RAM you would need an OS that could actually do something with it. This means a good distro of linux, vista, etc. Still, maybe you're not trading but imo, the ram is not really necessary unless you're running quad core or some sort of server

Best option for a BIG POWERFUL COMPUTER

lmao 8gbs of ram... i signed in just to post in this thread. I don't believe most motherboards even support 8gb of ram. Hell, usually with that much ram you would be doing 3D modelling, working on protein configurations, or editing quality video. You're welcome to top out a 4gb if you're...

A Smooth Equity Curve ----- The Holy Grail -----

I disagree with the OP, I don't believe the holy grail of trading to be a smooth equity curve. Holy Grail in my sense of the word is some magical setup, some indicator, that is right close to 100% of the time. If anything, I don't want a smooth equity curve because my account is so...

    Economics BS degree

My undergrad economics department head used to trade bonds for Goldman Sachs. She doesn't think very highly of technical analysis, and one of these days she wants to have a debate with me about it. I can't wait :) That said, I'm making money off of TA... so never listen to what people or...

where the real money in trading is?

Not trading your own money was probably the biggest mistake I ever made. With your own money you answer to no one, if you lose it you're determined to get it back. You know you fucked up, you don't need other people telling you did.

    How To Sell/Selling Rules?

Depends on your setups. I have this one great setup. It's really simple, I place it below swing lows on the uptrend when viewing the 30m chart. Or I could place it below the previous day's low. But everyone pretty much knows these two rules, everyone uses them. I have another where I get...

    Options vs stocks

You should read up more on options, there are more to them than simply leverage. Options aren't just vanilla long calls/puts, if you treat them as such that means you have to right on multiple things on the trade, such as: Direction of Price Extent of Price Change Volatility Options...

Btw, Ameritrade Izone is $5 a trade, $10 a roundtrip... which is more competitive.
