eSignal stipping volume from CBOT a/c/e markets (e.g. YM) since mid-Oct

At this point two questions arise: 1) if not accurate correct info on volume, then what is being reported? 2) how in the world does esignal expect us to trust ANYTHING they say or do, this is not an insignificant issue Anyone from esignal care to comment?

eSignal stipping volume from CBOT a/c/e markets (e.g. YM) since mid-Oct

MT, Could you please explain what you mean in more detail. Volume shows up just fine in my intraday charts (just looked at the dow emini). Daily interval charts have wrong volume, which most of us are aware of. Thanks, Bundle

How many are actual trader vs Posers/Newbies.....

You're quite right. I'd be less than truthful if I didn't admit I'm guilty of this sort of thing too. I guess it's a matter of degree. It's how much time do you spend in unproductive states. Keep it to a minimum. I got really flamed a long time ago for pointing this out: the opposite of...

How many are actual trader vs Posers/Newbies.....

If that, I wouldn't be surprised at 99/1. You don't need a poll. I have been around successful people in many fields to know a basic truth: successful people don't whine, complain, look for excuses, holler about commissions, bitch about their internet connection being down, etc etc etc. Truly...

    Is IB cheating you?

Oh boy, another phd in math. Reminds me of when I used to sell home appliances. I was dealing with this guy on a built in appliance. It was a wall oven. I told him to go home and measure the spot it went into before I sold it to him (it was to be special ordered). He started ranted about how he...

    Transition: loser to winner

LOL!!!!!!! Trading is a profession, period. These kind of comments crack me up, when I'm pretty sure this same person would never consider making them to a med student 5 years into their education, residency still to come, tens of thousands in loans already accrued. Go figure.

    eSignal 8.0 - better charts?

simstim, is it possible these differences are related to the pc in question. I have run esignal and qcharts on my current box, and my eye sight is 20/20 corrected, and I can't tell anydiff at all. I admit that esignals new beta titles are horrendous, but other than that no prob.

    volume by price indicator

Volume at price is not an indicator. As db states, it's data. You can rearrange the data until you are blue in the face, but it's still data. Mind you, certain arrangements can tend to produce useful insights (eg. volume at price). Now, if you perform calculations on it (like stochastics...

    eSignal 8.0 - better charts?

Just curious, what specifically don't you like about how the charts look? Most parameters are adjustable.

How long is the dayTrading learning curve?

c verm, with all due respect, you can't go into this with a particular time frame in mind. Look at the market wizards, the best traders in the world probably. Some of them started out profitable from day one (in an era of easier trading) and some took 5 or more years. I personally have been...

How high can the S&P go?

It amazes me how so many are so preoccupied with predicting what's going to happen, instead of just focusing on making money. The basic human need for certainty (ie. the need to know) will keep more out of your pocket than virtually anything else. And calling a top is ridiculous, just as...

Of course it does. All statistics are designed to do that.

    I found the Holy Grail

Oddi, If, and that's a big if, you found a way to consistantly perform at 33% batting average with the correct size win, that by definition is "your holy grail". There are as many holy grails as there are successful traders. Most of the market wizards didn't even do 33%. Good luck.

Attn JayF: E-Signal's Erroneous ES Volume on Daily Chart

Jay, for what it's worth I do believe that you sincerely want to make things right and care about your customers. That's why I'm replying to your post. I appreciate you hearing me out on this because it really gets to what I believe is the root of the problem: communication. The email I am...

Attn JayF: E-Signal's Erroneous ES Volume on Daily Chart

What baffles me about this particular issue (futures volume) is I was told by esig staffer that they were out to get customers from CQG. That's why we saw the improved market profile chart (again looking for new customers and forgetting about the old ones). If that's true, I can't imagine old...

Attn JayF: E-Signal's Erroneous ES Volume on Daily Chart

icarus, I complained too, several months ago. At that time I was told (by eSignal, Andy I believe) that there was no intent to change this due to a major programming issue. I was also told there was an easy work around by writing an EFS script to stagger the volume bars. As a matter of...

    e-signal data

Isn't it interesting also, how one person says they know there's a problem and they're working on it, and then the next person says no, theres no problem at all. Just one time, I'd love to hear and honest, sincere, "I"m sorry" from eSignal. Saying it after I have to get frustrated and hot...

    e-signal data

This is typical of eSignal in my experience. They just don't believe you and I could be right and they could be wrong. That concept doesn't exist for them.
