    Reuters new Bloomberg-alternative Product

Reuters "service" are their own worst enemy. I don't think I have ever had a non frustrating interaction with them.

    64-bit vs 32-bit

Just to make sure I have understood this right: If you run a 32 bit program e.g TS2000i under XP64 with 8GB of RAM TS2000i will only be able to access the 32 bit blimit of 4GB? (in addition to running at 32 not 64 bit speed obviously).

    64-bit vs 32-bit

Tums, Can you elaborate on "there are utilities that can help if you are desperate" I am on the verge of desparation as I have max 2GB RAM available on my scanning PC and with the 4000 symbols I run it is just going over the 2 GB RAM and presumably writing to the HDD. As I am just on the...

What's the deal w/ US Steel? From 190 to 66?

Maybe some analysts 'click and drag' forecasts overstimated China's demand. A bit like oil - its supposed fundamental worth has gone from $200 to $80 in a fw weeks. Can't imagine credit tightness has anything to do with this, must be China demand falling off.

Which Hedgefunds are going out of business? SAC, citadel, TCI,and etc?

Seth Klarmann makes a point about how irritated he got when he was expected to defend his track record agains scientific THEORY that said it was impossible, rather than academics being expected to defend their THEORIES against the FACTS of Klarmanns performance. They shouls stoick to...

Which Hedgefunds are going out of business? SAC, citadel, TCI,and etc?

Academic buffoons who did not know that bids get pulled in a rapidly falling market. Scientists should stick to things where Science is applicable. I get sick and tired of their buffoonic pronounciations on something they have no clue about.

The credit markets are effectively shut

............to take advantage of the Fed and taxpayer largesse. They are not and never were working capital lenders to mid size businesses. Any lending was a sweetener to get the underwriting business. The term 'bulge bracket' refers to the market cap 'bulge' of the S&P 500 supposedly...

They just banned short selling in US

It seems that many US businesses sell at low margin and make up the rest by offering finance. Ford for years lost money on every car sold and recouped it on the financing. This is why some industrials trade like financials. Those that can't adapt to tighter credit will just have to pay the price...

The credit markets are effectively shut

So why is Paulson pushing a bill that allows GS and MS who don't lend to industry to access the $700Bn thereby depriving access to banks that do?

Which Hedgefunds are going out of business? SAC, citadel, TCI,and etc?

"Funds like SAC/Citadel are doing things that almost all ET'rs could never understand." Try us, maybe some of us will understand.

    Bailout Proves Elites OWN Congress

......................but Congress is set to pass it because it seems they represent lobbyists or someone other than the American people. I mean, really, can't you just have a revolution, a few show trials, and then start afresh?

    Bailout Proves Elites OWN Congress

Hitler (or just maybe Goebbels) said that propaganda for the masses must be very simple and repeated often. Goering said that the trick to controlling the masses ws to create an external threat (words to that effect).

Bernanke now less involved (backing away?) from bailout plans

If he is not too busy preparing for the court cases, he should be.

which insurance company is in the brink?

" a major insurance company -- a major insurance company -- one with a name that everyone knows that's on the verge of going bankrupt" Doesn't sound like he is speaking "generally" to me.

    Bailout Proves Elites OWN Congress

It really depends on how much you are spending on "lobbying" congress.

    Paulson is an ASSHOLE!

Meanwhile the propagandsa machine is pumping out fact devoid stories about how the majoity of Americans want it now because the market went down for one day.

    Bailout Proves Elites OWN Congress

Private Equity bailout is already in place - seems they made some bad investments and now are claiming their bailout entitlement alomg with anybody and everybody with lobbying power who made bad investments. Joe Public will have to eat his of course, no real lobbying power.
