just doubled-down on my NG position

Is this a quote? No one, not even a great trader, knows what's going to happen in two weeks. It is arrogant to presuppose that one has that kind of foreknowledge. Those who are short might well have to pay up to get out, like those who are (were, says those who have lost billions trading...

just doubled-down on my NG position

Yes, that was sloppily stated, wasn't it? Heating oil, like kerosine, gasoline, diesel, is refined from crude (crack spread); power plants tend to use coal. Usually crude (heating oil) tends to not stray not too far from natural gas. That said, I have had some success with trading...

just doubled-down on my NG position

At this point, a dollar is actually not that much of a drop for ng. Those who are leveraged to the gills might not agree. But those with such disdain for leverage do not belong trading ng in the first place. Fundamentally, ng is dirt cheap. Compared to crude (competes with ng to fuel...

just doubled-down on my NG position

It would be impossible for NG to stay at the same price for the next 4 months, or even that close to the same price, because supply and demand tend to be more volatile in winter than right now. And supply and demand are ultimately what dictate the price of natural gas, or any commodity.

    safety of aspartame/nutrasweet

If insulin were released after ingesting aspartame as a reaction to increased blood sugar, aspartame would not be recommended for diabetics. Consider this from the Mayo Clinic: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/artificial-sweeteners/AN00348

    safety of aspartame/nutrasweet

I have not seen any SCIENTIFIC evidence that aspartame causes serious health problems. Anecdotal evidence is apparently all the fearmongers can bring to the table. That doesn't mean that I am going against what I said about cutting down on the Diet Coke.

    safety of aspartame/nutrasweet

Well, I did some research on the book that was cited in the iron magazine forum. I am always skeptical, and this water book sounded like hooey. I guess there are others who have their doubts. http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/batman.html

    safety of aspartame/nutrasweet

Just because Weil is an M.D. does not necessarily mean that his advice is sound. I have read his articles in PREVENTION magazine (a gift from my health fadish parents), and his reasoning is often poor, his evidence, weak. And yet he is popular. It must be the beard. JMO.

    safety of aspartame/nutrasweet

Biochemically, why does aspartame (Equal) produce a sucrose-like effect on raising insulin levels whereas sucralose (Splenda) does not? Before reading this thread, I was already considering cutting down my Diet Coke intake. I simply drink way too much (two king size cups at Hardees for...

    safety of aspartame/nutrasweet

Many thanks for the thoughtful post and link. You've given me food for thought. Perhaps I'd be more cut if I cut out the Diet Coke. I've considered replacing my morning Diet Coke with coffee (iced coffee mixed with a chocolate flavored high protein whey powder. I tried it once and it...

    safety of aspartame/nutrasweet

Does anyone know of a study done on the relationship between aspartame and insulin levels? I looked years ago, back when I first thought about it. That is the key link to obesity, after all. What makes sugar so bad is not so much the calories (though there are many in a large Coke), but the...

Oct Natural gas being sold bigtime

There have been powerful rallies in NG along the way. Although they have not lasted more than a few weeks, a powerful rally is a powerful rally. I'd rather be long than short at this point, btw. Bottom fishing can be profitable if done patiently and in moderation. When trend followers get...

Austin Passamonte Challenges all at ET to a $10K entry fee Contest!

Trader A starts with 5K and works it up to 50K, and then has a 20% dd to 40K (10 K drawdown). Trader B starts at the same time with 5K, has an immediate 20% dd, but comes back and works it up to 6K. According to your defintion, trader B is the better trader for having the lower drawdown...

    Obese Americans

Anyone who works out regularly knows that Atkins or any other low carB diet simply does not work. You cannot train hard while burning fat, and if you cannot train hard, you'll simply never get the muscle mass needed to get your metabolism up enough to burn fat all of the time. One of the...

    Obese Americans

Crash diets work, in the short term, and they can work fast. 15 pounds of weight loss is possible in a short amount of time. Good luck. That said, in the long-term, crash diets don't work. If you want to keep the weight off, you're going to have to come up with something you can live with...

    Option Income Portfolios

There is plenty of discussion on ET on this. I'd suggest going to the search page, look under "journals" and read what posters riskarb, optioncoach, and Maverick74 have written. There are few books (if any) that can teach you what you can learn from these guys (esp riskarb). What have I...
