    1-2 ES points a day

Did you used to post here under a different name? Your writing style reminds me of a poster who traded ES full-time and contributed much wisdom to this forum. If not, well, glad you're here! :-)

This is way too much risk for a newbie, imo. 10K for a contract also seems too low for a newbie. I would suggest working with shares of SPY first. Good luck! :-)

I think there is enough evidence throughout ET that "Apex" is not on the up and up. That said, I will not waste any more space here on Buy1's journal discussing the matter. :-)

Anyone know why the selloff at 3pm?

Your take on history is not accurate. I was there, so let me recap: From 2000 to 2003, the S&P was cut in half. Even quality blue-chip tech stocks such as CSCO and INTC were decimated. Holders of QQQQ lost 4/5 of their money. My point: buying and holding Nasdaq stocks, and then adding...

If one is going to post trades and pat oneself on the back when said trades work out, then one should be comfortable about posting actual records of trades made in an actual account. Am I right?

Anyone know why the selloff at 3pm?

Of course you didn't. If you had, you'd have had no money left after buying every dip, and you wouldn't be here.

Anyone know why the selloff at 3pm?

Did you buy at the all-time top in 2000 and hold? Or are you a newbie who has yet to pay his dues for his faith in a market that never drops 30%?

When Austin Passamonte used to post here on ET, he'd post a picture of his trades (trades, not account numbers or dollar amounts) that day fresh from Ninja Trader, so there would be no doubt that he was telling the truth. Why don't you guys do the same?

Going long in an uptrend offers more potential than going short in an uptrend. One can certainly make money going countertrend, but arguably it makes more sense to go where there is greater potential for profit.

I have a Ph.D., but one does not need a Ph.D. to know that risk is one subject Dr, Vic tends to neglect both in his books and in his trading. This is not passing judgment. It is an assessment that applies at one or another to each of us.

Yes, there is (I've done it only once before, with some poster named Steve46). Well worth it.

Will We Have A 7% Or Greater Correction By August?

The longer before there is a correction, the more severe it will be.

Jack Hershey, why won’t you simplify ??

Ths use of obscure, needlessly complicated jargon or otherwise contrived language makes one APPEAR intelligent. This characteristic is to me a red flag that there may be bs in the area. I don't know Hershey, and have no interest in criticizing him or his methods, but there are plenty of...

    Selling naked puts question

Some would say that the delta of the option is the market's way of establishing the chances that the option will be itm at expiration. Hence, the odds that a dotm put with a delta of 10 would remain otm at expiration would be 1/10. But the markets are NOT closed systems in which one can...

Assuming that the loss is the same regardless of whether you hold for 2 or for 4, it makes much more sense to hold, at least if your figures are accurate. Holding for 2 points=After 10 trades= 16 points (8 X2) profit - loss Holding for 4 points=After 10 trades, 24 points (6 X 4) profit -...

60/40 income tax for non-US futures?

Does anyone know the tax laws in this country for NON-US futures (Nikkei, DAX, Hang Seng)? Are they given the same 60/40 treatment? Thanks.

Mark Cook: 29% correction in March 2007

You guys have no class. I don't agree with the guy about the 29% impending drop, nor do I agree with him about the need to "tithe," but I'd gather that his "tithe" is larger than the collective trading "incomes" of about half of the so-called traders here.
