    Does trendline work?

Your thinking is sooooo far off, I wouldn't begin to know where to start the argument.

    Does trendline work?

From NQ 9/11. Trendline appears to be acting as support.... playable with usual (tight) stop.

    Does trendline work?

Agree... Red Line is correct "Upper channel line doesn't appear to be drawn correctly"... actually, it's close. The channel is the blue lines. The channel would be just about spot-on if the upper line connected the actual wick highs and the lower line connected the actual wick lows. IOW, the...

    Does trendline work?

Agree about "horizontal lines vs. diagonal".. the diagonal ones don't hold as often as a trader would like. However, they DO hold sometimes... and sometimes for significant moves... so players should be aware of them and be ready to play them when it "looks like they held".

What is your way of identifying trend reversals?

You can and you should. KISS, Baby! (And KISS don't include volume.) :)

    Should i put 300k into an S&P 500 ETF?

I would advise, "not now". The market is likely too close to an important top. You've got plenty of time... no "need" to go risk-on at this time. Suggest waiting until the market has had a smashola where you can buy share on the cheap.

What is your way of identifying trend reversals?

For a trend reversal, "significant support or significant resistance" need to be broken and hold. Volume plays no part in trading the price chart for me... nor should it for any price chart trader.

9/7... Price TA... Market "built" support @ 4435. Did you get a piece of it?

First, 2-4 losses are not all that many. After that, "it depends"... If I've made sloppy trades (which I rarely do these days), I "tighten up" on entries. If I've made good technical plays and still get losses, then I question whether I'm trading with the "correct bias". If the market is...

9/7... Price TA... Market "built" support @ 4435. Did you get a piece of it?

Maybe but probably not directly. You don't get to know "where it will go" or "how long it will last"... you have to play that by ear. All you get to know is the "start" of this thing and then the start of the next thing. You can SEE where the market changes from buying-to-selling and vice...

9/7... Price TA... Market "built" support @ 4435. Did you get a piece of it?

Obvious as it gets. Price TA... "Matched low(s) support". "Buy Support, Sell Resistance"... DUH!!

Bought a fancy new Dell and it sucks

Dell's very best line of computers is Precision workstations. I've had Dells for years, had zero disappointments with them and recommend only that line.... and not even ALL of that line. Dell has put the 36xx line in with their REAL workstations.. a deceptive marketing ploy... the 3600's are...

Bought a fancy new Dell and it sucks

When I had my T3500 Precision workstations running on W7, I also had a Precision laptop. When I upgraded to W10 and Precision T5810, I got another Precision laptop. Has 16GB RAM, 5GB video card, NVME storage/drive, UHD display, and 3-year warranty, just like a new one. Cost $350... would...

Bought a fancy new Dell and it sucks

Did you buy that 5820 I highlighted for you? That was a particularly good "upscale" deal, but ANY 5820 with enough HP for anyone's trading needs would be a smart purchase. (I showed that same workstation to another ETer, but he opted for a different 5820 with less upscale. He didn't get as...

Bought a fancy new Dell and it sucks

You earlier asked me what I'd buy today if I were in the market. You didn't respond to my reply, but I see you mentioned the 5820 for $500. That's still my rec, BTW.

Bought a fancy new Dell and it sucks

Ditto. Precision is Dell's BEST line of computers... and the 5820 is especially good! And yes, Dell has a driver update program for their computers.... I use it on my laptop... which is also a Precision.

The problem with breakouts... you need them to run to be legit. When they first start, you don't know whether it's going to run or be a fake-out.... easy to get whip-saw... but if you do, it shouldn't cost you too much if you made your play at/near the technically correct level. Years ago old...

That's the kind of info I'd charge BIG $$$ for if someone with deep enough pockets thought they might benefit. Besides, I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of the thrill of figuring it out on their own. I've often said that I would advise "where to fish", but I'm not going to bait your hook and...

"Counters"... moves against your position/trend... are always a problem. Once a counter starts, you don't know whether it will be short and shallow or be something much larger. The safest way to trade them is to trade out and back in rather than "ride out". The market gives you every...
