ETF = exchange-traded fund. QQQ SPY DIA etc No uptick for shorting. Same for the iShares (HOLDRs) SMH BBH etc. They make for quick short entries when the market's dropping fast and you can't get filled on stocks.

No shares to borrow on the futures so you can get filled immediately.

Short the ETFs and es/nq until you get filled on the stocks:D
