Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

I've understand IQ & Esignal send all data and IB sends "snapshots" every 200ms. Obviously, there's some gaps in IB's Tic chart, but maybe that's a better way to go, if during times of extreme volume the charts don't lag behind the actual price. ticktrade, how do the Tic charts compare...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Futures Trading Journal

I was just having my Sunday morning coffee and looking over some of Spyder's charts and saw what I thought was a perfect example to illustrate the difference between what a Price-Only trader might be thinking, versus a what Price & Gaussian Volume trader probably should be thinking during this...

Does anyone use what Jack is referring to here, "the wall showing on the price chart"? If so, how do you use it? How does it differ from using stalactites? An example chart would be nice.

    I Need More Accountability - Sim P/L

Nice trading Thurs. I'm looking at you're spreadsheet and noticed a column labelled MAE. I suppose this means Maximum Adverse Excursion, right? If so, some of your trades went against you by -2.5 pts. Why do you feel confident enough on these drawdowns to hold through it?

    I Need More Accountability - Sim P/L

I was looking over your entry & exit times from yesterday's trades and noticed that none were at least 5 min. Most were in the 1 min range. I'm not saying this is good or bad, but just curious as to how you would of done if you'd of held your trades for at least 5 - 7 min. If you feel you're...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Futures Trading Journal

Spyder, Are you saying, that if you were LONG and saw a STR/SQU reading of -10 you would "instantly" reverse to a SHORT position no matter what price was doing? If yes, at what other levels would this action occur ........ -4, -5, etc. ? Again if yes, wouldn't volatility affect these...

Procrast, Are you still compiling this thread in sections like you have in the past? I haven't seen any downloads in awhile. If not, I need to get crackin' and do it myself.

Well, what I'm asking is does BT's sim make you pay the spread on a Market Order? You are using market orders in this journal, right?

If you're using market orders, does BracketTrader's sim give you semi-realistic market orders...........buy@ask sell@bid ?

Jack/Spyder/Mak, Regarding ProCrast's debrief of Mar. 12th, I have a question concerning the Part D Long trade. I'm sure we'll all be seeing this same exact situation many, many times again, so I wanted to ask: If you went Long at the BO of the RTL or even earlier at the FTT, and then...

TWS hiccups in fast market. (JAVA ISSUE!!)

Syswizard, thanks for the info. I suppose another option might be to manually turn off some of the supporting processes (if possible) in XP or Vista. I think one of the PC mags has an article this or last month on how to do it.

TWS hiccups in fast market. (JAVA ISSUE!!)

Syswizard, When you say Windows XP is a non real-time OS, what do you mean? I've never heard this. How does this effect quotes/charts? Why would an older OS be better to use? Will Vista have the same issues for daytraders?

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Bighog, A few questions, if I may: 1) How many whipsaw losses to the centerline do you accept, before waiting for the one hour breakout? 2) For the one hour breakout do you reset your breakout lines to the one hour highs/lows? Where would the stop-loss be set then? 3) How long have...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal II

After looking at many of your ES charts, Spyder, I've noticed a couple things. 1) At first, I thought the 20 sma was just cluttering up the chart, but it appears that when it's very close to a channel line it provides additional support or resistance. Maybe just coincidence, not sure...

"We have camtasiaed many day's trading because it is part of the evening debriefing to retrade the day to determine the differences in a non pressured trading sequence as compared to a pressured sequence." The above was from Grob109 on 9-18-06. If this was referring to SCT trading, I'm...

Thank you for your responses. I was hoping for black & white answers, but I can certainly appreciate shades of grey. After all, this is the market were writing about. I'm really looking forward to the new SCT thread in 2007.

Yes, I had read those posts. Ok, so an FTT results in a FBO, BO or another FTT. Got it. Here's what I don't get. Lets say you're in a uptrending channel. Price is traversing to the LTL. It's almost there, but you then get a red bar with some decent volume. Do you have a FTT? If so...
