    First In Queue

Let's take Citibank, the thickest and highest volume stock on the NYSE, and also (one of) the slowest. Citi is 4.89 x 4.90. They start paying the 4.90s and it takes out all but EDGX, NSDQ, and ARCA. Then, it's just NSDQ showing 2500 (250,000 shares), and then, the next instant, it it now 4.90...

Dark Liquidity vs. EdgeA on Citigroup

There''s lots of inefficiency out there as far as order execution. People trade on regular ECNs such as Arca, Bats, when they can be getting executions on NSDQBX - which pays a huge rebate $1.40 per 1k vs EDGA's $.15. People buy the offer on NSDQBX when there is an ARCA or NSDQ or EDGX...

Do you find day trading exhausting?

At the end of the day I can often be quite tired mentally. It's very engaging and stimulating, which consequentially takes a tole. I like to have a beer and lie down to watch TV and just "zone out" for about an hour after the market is over in order to recharge. I'm very young and I love this...

I have changed the look of my blog

Sorry for not having suggestions on what it should look like, but it looks rather amateurish and unprofessional.

    I need a cheap broker

I have to respectfully disagree. With a real daytrading edge you an experienced trader can take 5k and make $200-500/day without excessive risk. I've already posted in the past why comparing portfolio managing/swing trading type rates of return to daytrading is irrelevant. With proper...

    Can I get this data?

What you're looking for is counter-party data, which is not available. It would be very useful to us all.

    I need a cheap broker

3-5 years? 50K? What planet are you from. 5-10k should be max loss during learning period, which should be between 6 months-1 year. If you're trading for 2.5 years and still not making money you do NOT belong in the business. If you can't, after learning the ropes, build a 5 or 10k...

Equity model stats - aim higher?

Those numbers are enormous. 3 cents/share means you're making $3,000 for 100,000 shares traded. That's tremendous. Assuming 1c/share slippage and 3/10ths of a cent commission, that's still $1700 per 100,000 shares. It is rare for a daytrader to consistently make more than a penny per share...

Why is it always a first time poster asking about some prop firm that no one has heard of?

    EchoTrade or Hold Brothers

These shops are mainly for DAY trading... my average holding time is about five minuste, holding until end of day is extremely rare for me. I'm the type of client those shops love. Bright Trading, and Echo if you have more capital, may be more suited to overnights.

Best Sterling broker, ECNs and floor broker route

What you want to do can't be done on an individual level, your high frequency scalping doesn't pay enough for the floor broker to make a living. You'd have to give him an amount of shares which simply isn't feasible to do on a daily basis in C (many, many million; no matter how good the fills...

can you day trade without using TA?

I have charts up but use no TA whatsoever... all orderbook/time and sales.

    Biggest day ever

Best: + $10,800 USD Worst: -$17,500 USD Both were in fall of 2008. The best was when I had an 8 day run where I was up over $45,000. The worst was when I decided making $5k/day wasn't enough and thought it would be prudent to quadruple my size. Instead of risking $300-500 per trade I...

How much money FROM TRADING do you need to make you happy?

Yeah those numbers are all very low. If I hit 6 figures I'm happy, though I'd very much like to make several hundred thousand.

IB threatens to close my account

Go with a prop firm or a CBSX shop, you can get more margin. 10:1 is absurd. I believe the NASDAQ requirement is 300:1, which you fall into.

    Hedge stocks with a prop

I make a concentrated effort to avoid making negative posts or engaging in anything other than being helpful or partaking in constructive discussions. With that said, you are either intentionally trolling to get attention, or you are the stupidest person on these boards (which is quite a...

    starting a trading group?

Figure out how much volume/PnL you're going to be doing as a group and start calling up all the different shops. Negotiate. If you're international, you may want to try some of the Canadian firms.

    echo trade question...

I think that's just CBSX firms... Bright/Echo are series-7 firms (which is FINRA or NASD I think).
