Hiding Volume - How to do it

You hide the orders with the dark pools, but the prints (in theory anyway... I wouldn't doubt that the SEC lets GS not report trades they don't want to) still show up as T(hird market) prints in the time and sales.

    Florida vs. New York

Not moving into a slum, friend's parents own a house that they're not using there. I might actually get cheaper rent. The whole point of moving there is because I have an opportunity to live so cheaply, at this point. Thanks for the advice. Still, under 2 years, and then I can carry...

Those aren't fishy, those are the closing prints, which you yourself can be included on if you submit before 3:59:50 a market-on-close or limit-on-close order.

    important! must read SLOW QUOTES

If you're trading on a platform that gets slow quotes, that's great, because I will take your liquidity and make you miss your out and then panic in the market, where I will cover my position. Apparently, however, this strategy of mine (anticipating short term orderflow based on repetitive...

SEC says that mark to market is no longer required

I think at this point it's past valuing them at the level that shows a profit; most these banks are just hoping they can value the assets such that they don't get forced into bankruptcy.

    To the Career Traders...

it took me about 6 months to really have a firm grasp of what a good setup is; 16 months and my emotions still aren't in check. So after 16 months I'm taking home 25% of my strategy's potential. I've seen people take a year to get the setups, which I found easy back when I started (it's...

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

Just FYI, I've seen specialist or floor broker reserve orders showing 10k... and sometimes when they start showing less than 10k that's the end of the order. Usually they game it though, and continue to refresh after decrementing the display size.

Where is the recession? Show me ?

I don't think home prices will be doubling or quadrupling for quite some time. Maybe when the NASDAQ hits 7k. Sounds like you're romanticizing over a past bubble with an antiquated notion of how the housing market works.

Where is the recession? Show me ?

So by this logic the NASDAQ was a great buy at 4000 and an even better buy at 3500 on the way down... since stocks always go up and in 5-10 years you'll be good, especially if you get to keep some dividends.

    So Goes GM

I kind of think the Gov will bail GM and F out before letting them go bankrupt. Allowing them to go bankrupt would be unpatriotic, afterall.

    Tape Experts

Would you characterize the game of trying to tape read futures as being similar to trying to tape read extremely liquid dow stocks? Something like GE probably has as many Swifties willing to go in/out with 50-100k shares as the ES has people scalpers throwing 50-100 contracts around. I guess...
