Trading since middle of August..how am I doing......

Many of the months you mentioned as being "tough" were actually incredible market conditions for daytraders - the type that come a few times every few years. I fucked up in november and disregarded discipline even though there was tremendous opportunity, but Jan, Oct, November, August were the...

Tuco distributions "best case scenario is the end of May"

If Tuco has 10 Mill in Assets, I suspect it will be something along the lines of: Forensic Accounting: $5.6 Million SEC Lawyers: $3.1 Million Traders: $700,000 ----- Tuco may not have done anything wrong, but their assets have been looted.

Lowest share size without running into problems

My understanding is that with some firms, you can trade 50 shares, while with others anything less than 100 is strictly prohibited. I think even with the firms where you can trade 50 shares on ECNs, if you send your odd lot to the nyse specialist, they get pissed off - especially on thin stocks.

What to do after hitting daily goal?

If you're hitting your goal and then losing, the problem is not related to goal setting but to your strategy's performance in dfiferent times of day. It's best to take every setup, though if your setups fail after 11:30 except on highly volatile days, obviously you should stop... or risk less...

    is this allowed

Most don't get caught. Only retail traders get caught, and then they occasionally will "set an example" and arrest someone low down in an investment bank, or prosecute some hedgefund no one cares about, to delude the public into thinking the agency exists to protect citizens from securities...

    Quitting Trading

If your problem is psychological, I.E. you know how to make money but you self-sabotage, I would recommend trying to find a therapist/trading coach who can help you gain better insight into why you hold yourself back. If your problem is that you have no valid method, and you've been doing...

    Which system is better

You must be kidding. Without telling us more details about A and B, your question is worthless. Why must you choose anyway - if you have two good systems, why not trade them both?

    Swifttrade or trading for yourself

I can tell you what the best option for you is, as well as secondary and tertiary options, such that you can continue to trade as you are but take home a larger percentage of what you make. For me to do that, I need to know how many shares you're trading per day, or per month, and how much...

What is the dead low in terms of commissions?

If you're doing 2-4mill/month and paying .004, you are getting majorly ripped off. You're just throwing away 4-10/grand per month at min. ----- I don't think too many people get below .001 and retain 100% payout. Maybe a few people who trade high volume with sterling, but that's about it.

    Scapegoats for credit crisis

All the speculators in the OTC derivatives markets are from the big banks. They can try to blame us, but since the credit markets are 100% institutional, I'm not sure how effective that will be.

    Confusion about annual return %'s?

The way I see it is as that the daytraders make their living off of the natural inefficiencies that come when large orders are entered, especially fearfully or greedily. The orders come from all the various institutions that are trying to chase after a 25% (or 15%, or 10) annual return on vast...

Never talk about the money you make with your friends

You need people to talk markets with. I too am a market addict, but I don't talk about trading with my friends - when asked, I focus on how tough the business. The reason I don't NEED to talk about trading with my friends is A) during the trading day I am socializing with other traders via...

What is the dead low in terms of commissions?

The whole point of "dead low" is that it is a unique deal such that the pitchmen from the prop firm will do everything to avoid giving that rate to "you." The people who are given the "dead low" deals are usually given them on the condition that they not tell others about the deal, because once...

Stocks that shoudn't be where they are

While I personally held the belief that we will be entering a 2-3 year bear market/recession with the S&P touching 1120, it appears that we are now at a market bottom. I can't think of any indicator more bullish than stocktrad3r going short. The time to buy is now. S&P to make new all time...
