Elliot Wave Calls the Top... Again

I agree that the EW guys have lost some touch with reality. Robert Miner is another respectable EW guy that called a top in the s&p and in gold a while ago. he even wrote that the wave structure that predicts this top has "90% probability". After it kept shooting higher he wrote "although it's...

    2 monitors: 1 LCD, 1 CRT

It's your monitor (CTX). I have one too at home, they are cheap crap. Buy a decent monitor (I use LG flat 19" CRT, which I got for a very very fair price, I work with 1600x1200 resolution and it's beautiful).

Alternatives to IB and TS for trading both stocks & futures

I found REDI (SLK) to be one big pain in the. IB's TWS is by far more comfortable.

    IB vs. Tradestation

TradeStation won't let you try their software, not even a one day free trial. You'll have to go through the whole process of opening a brokerage account just to try the software. Or, pay a mad non-brokerage client software fee of $200/mo., just to TRY the software. I am not interested in...

    What's The Most Robust/Reliable Data Provider...Streaming RT & Historical

eSignal real time has proven very reliable for me and for many others so far. Their historical database doesn't go that far though. If you want more history you should try TradeStation.

Best timeframes for daytrading the ES.

go down from daily to 60,15,3,1. 120 gives a nice picture too. 10 minutes look clearer than 15 many times. if you want to refine your entry further, try lowering to 30sec chart.

IB losing the edge in commissions!

Chris, check out the attachment for an NQ trade I took. I had my reasons for entry but check out the profit taking points - which I chose due to both NQ numbers (round numbers etc.) and the volume spikes.

    eSignal forex rates

With TradeStation now offering streaming forex data for FREE, as of version 7.2 which is already out, how is eSignal planning to respond? As far as I understand the forex fee with eSignal is $50 which is A LOT. Jay? Chuck? Thanks 50

IB losing the edge in commissions!

Hey Chris you should post for us some educational articles here on ET like Brandon from TFMS does. Or perhaps give us a chat seminar (Brandon did quite a few!). PS I liked your article about "Cutting the Market with an Edge" that you published on that expo promotion email on Sep 9. Very true...

IB losing the edge in commissions!

The cheapest I saw so far is FFast Trader. including their platform fee, I calculated that if you trade more than 700 contracts a month, it turns out cheaper than IB. Anything below 700 contracts IB is still cheaper. Did you find cheaper brokers than that?

Fast_Trader, as with any business, you need to take expenses into account as well (software fees, hardware purchases, etc.).

    SSFs - Do they suck?

SSF are always like that. DIA moves 30c - but the DIA SSF moves 2c. Some times there are insane spreads for no reason, and many times there is very awkward movements. This happens so often that I believe that SSF is not a reliable instrument to trade directionally (like you trade stocks, buy...

IB losing the edge in commissions!

Hey Def; As you wrote in your post IB has some great features including good software, good margin, sipc protection etc etc... no doubt. But, if you read hayman's post that I quoted here, you'll see why I started this thread.. you guys at IB have to keep your edge in commissions. Give...

IB losing the edge in commissions!

I was referring to a round trip of buying 300 shares and selling 100 shares at a time. That's 4 transactions multiple $3 each. It was written clearly in my post. And once again I must mention the eminis fees, which are 35% higher (3.25 vs 2.4) - that's regardless of how many lots you trade...
