Half way through life and not close to being consistent

No one is suggesting you should be psychic or even try to buy the low tick or sell the high. But with such an obvious and powerful bull market why be short? No matter what the strategy you needed, at some point, to realize this bull market was for real.

How much would you risk on a GOOD trade?

I don't get the math. How does the hit rate indicate how many times in a row you could be wrong?

Gartman says gold is going loooooower

Why would anyone care what a talking head thinks? Flip a coin instead.

Does having a spouse with income help or hurt trading?

The more income &/or net worth you have the longer you have to learn the trade. More is better.

    Is everything overbought???

If you buy into the premise (and I don't) it is quite a simple market to trade: BUY IT AND HOLD IT!!!

Successful traders: why don't you move to a 0% capital gains tax country?

Does anyone in this thread even know one person who has renounced their US citizenship to save on taxes? So few people actually do it it is barely worth a conversation.

Number of New York traders at all time low

Bad advice. Get yourself positioned in a highly compensated field and it won't matter if you are at the very top of the range or the middle. It always matters if you are at the bottom because it is a sign that something is radically wrong. Don't become the best and most highly compensated...

    Target missed by one tick

Unless you believe that a change in your plan will result in higher returns ... do nothing. No plan will avoid what you lament. It's supposed to happen.

Successful traders: why don't you move to a 0% capital gains tax country?

Banks: Boom times for trading might have gone forever

Why would decreased liquidity result in these instruments trading in narrower ranges? It would seem that a thin market would make it more likely for price to continue to run once a trend began -- intraday or longer term. Wasn't it accepted wisdom that specialists -- in the day -- contributed...

    Home setup with 4 monitors

That's not a $100 iphone. It's a bundled deal that includes a $.99 come on. I'm not saying it's a good deal or a bad one just pointing out what it really is.

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

No firm can give every customer what they want.

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

But your question was why they will not provide you with it. Not why you, as an individual, want it. Think insurance ... you fall into a higher risk group.

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

Guys with a bit of money in the game -- say 100K + -- tend not to play it as fast and loose as those with a 10 K account. Their ideal client for portfolio margin is not a directional trader trading Tesla etc. with 10 or 20K trying to hit home runs. They prefer the $500,000 (or larger)account...
