stevet its not so much that it will be going against your grain - but that you will be learning to scalp, and you may find that you end up buying from or selling to the trader sitting next to you - with volatility or enough noise - this may work out - but sooner or later....!

Re: MacFutures They are probably the biggest and there is no downside for you. They'll train you and then may give you the money to trade - whats your downside! But you will learn a certain way to trade, and that will be your method for life! Make sure its one that works for you.

The problem of taking positions midday is that it is gambling and not trading. I don't trade off volume, but the problem midday is that as there is less volume, moves can be real fast, and therefore you cannot ascertain the risk/reward - one loss will wipe out any wins.

the costs are not an issue - but one thing i would say to you - is that you can research all you want - but its more important to start trading on a minimum level and stick to that level - and then you will learn - research is just a waste of time

If you do your homework, which is the only way to learn, you will see that fib lines match up to support resistance lines, and then you will start to get a better understanding of how markets move, and how levels are tested and retested
