    ART banned?

Understood, however it's not simply a question of who they are when they join, it's also a question of who they become, after they have joined. Also, I'm pretty sure that a lot of serial-killers could be described as 'mentally stable', in a twisted sort of way, in the sense that they can...

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

No, I don't think it is either. My point was that at the time I hit the slide, we were talking about substantially more. With $300k? I probably would have stuck at it a bit longer, but I'm inclined to believe the end result would have been the same. Afterall, if I don't believe that, in...

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

Well, maybe think about it like this: are you a good lover? Assuming you answer yes, would you call yourself 'unsucessful' at it because you don't 'do it for a living'?

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

Virt, I'd say I was. I funded with $30k, but was prepared to sink another $20k in. Sure, that was essentially my entire net worth, but I felt I had the advantage of time on my side, so it wasn't as scared capital as it otherwise might have been. At my peak I was up low multiples of that...

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

Why thank you lazy. :) Just to clarify, I quit trading almost a year ago. This posting wasn't related to any recent event; just something I felt compelled to write as I was reading through the current spate of "want to trade" threads in Career Trader.

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

csaunders, actually I was trading from a mid 20s world-is-your-oyster perspective with, essentially, no responsibilities; the ideal. If you have got responsibilities, like family, under no circumstances would I suggest day trading.

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

Wise approach. I haven't got any concret methods on hand, but I'm sure there are many ways of exploiting the inefficiencies of the market place; it's just that I don't think that sitting in front of your PC all day, frantically clicking buttons to catch .05 is a very good way to go about it.

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

Zat, I don't disagree at all with what you say, in principle. However, I think it's more than a tad foolhardy not to consider the realistic difficulty of achieving the desired goal. With that consideration in mind, I find it extremely difficult to justify daytrading for a living as a wise...

    ART banned?

I tend to agree. If you go back exactly one year ago and see the kinds of posts he was making as Optional777 -- war supporter, no-fault-America, anti-socialist etc -- and read what he's writing now, there's absolutely no acknowledgement whatsoever that he understands the opposing point of view...

    Nonsensical banning.

I've come to understand that ART was banned for being annoying in the Chat room and because some people 'complained' about him. Wonderful. I guess it wasn't possible to ban him solely from the Chatroom, or to simply kindly ask that he not post to it.... So that leaves us...

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

There have been quite a few, so it wasn't easy to choose, but I'd have to go with "choosing to daytrade for a living". This is an incredibly stupid decision to make. The odds of success in daytrading for a living (its time intensive nature pretty much means you'll have to do it for a living)...

What was really going on in the torture prison?

Whatever it was it was it was dumb, dumb, dumb. What kind of a total doorknob wouldn't be able to predict the media and arab reaction to this? A complete no brainer. World's dumbest criminals look out, you've competition.

POLL: If another 911 happens, will the Civilized World think that we deserved it?

In all seriousness, yes, I think much of (though by no means all) what we know as the 'civilized world' (which I regard as 'the west') will believe America 'deserved it'; they would be wrong, but many will believe it, to far greater extent than they believed it for 9/11.

    Ever had a supernatural experience?

Actually, the 'assumption' I had been making was "man, is this guy talking out of his rear end or what?". I hope you can understand, hapaboy, that when I hear stories like this and discount them it's nothing personal against the teller; it's just that I have to weigh them up against what I...

    Iraqi prisoner photo scandal

Actually, to be honest, my blood didn't boil at all over the treatment of those Americans. Did yours? And ART, I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that all I think the "white non Arab abusers" is that they are "stupid". I really hate to see humans unnecessarily humiliated no matter who...
