The upsides and downsides of trading...

I have some interesting observations over the years on the upsides and downsides of trading. Upsides: 1. You don't have to concentrate on a solid poker face to hide emotion. 2. The game is simpler and doesn't require complex card counting. 3. The emotion levels of the other players is...

The end of private ownership in the means of production

Genocide is the more humane option. The federal government already has plans in place.

The end of private ownership in the means of production

None of your scenario's are correct. There are people in powerful places putting the final touches in place on a plague that will wipe out about 75% of the human population. It is a modified much more highly communicable form of Ebola. That will bring things back into balance in the world. :D...

    The best OANDA traders...

Oh, solved it... Their exits were the weekly pivot, and the weekly open. Interesting... Nothing special there.

    The best OANDA traders...

Are pretty impressive... One guy captured 100% of the EUR/USD move today... Another captured 99% of the EUR/JPY long! http://fxtrade.oanda.com/analysis/best-forex-trade-of-the-day I know exactly why they entered their trades and how they picked their price levels... I just haven't solved...

Opened an account with OANDA - Questions...

When people are getting emotional and tossing in the towel on a capitulation surge... I take the money off the weak hands and hold it to give it back to them when it's worth more. Either that or I enter into a trend when people are second guessing the move.

Is retail this stupid? - OANDA Net Open Positions Chart

Seriously... Can this chart be correct? This says that 95%+ of retail swing/positions traders cash is positioned long for this slide of the EUR/USD. I am not looking to buy any EUR/USD for weeks or possibly even months and have downside targets far below these levels unless something...

I don't enter/exit positions near news events so OANDA is perfect for me.

Once the euro ends, what will be the next most liquid pair?

I'm not talking about the EUR/USD going down. I was talking about the EUR being "discontinued" as a currency. Out of print, etc... Leading up to that it will be doing a lot of going down and volatility is going to be back in a HUGE way in the next couple years. The only way the currency will...

Once the euro ends, what will be the next most liquid pair?

I just had a random though... Why can I go back to the mid 1980's on the EUR/USD charts when it was created in 1999 according to Wikipedia??? Is the data for back then generated off of the underlying currencies that were merged?

Once the euro ends, what will be the next most liquid pair?

I'm going to be bullish the euro later this year as the fiscal crisis approaches here... But I'm just thinking long term. Is it worth doing much analysis of the Eur/Usd if it's unlikely to survive more than a couple more years?

Once the euro ends, what will be the next most liquid pair?

Once the EUR/USD ends in a couple years... What currency pair will become the next dominantly traded pair? The USD/GBP? The USD/New German Currency, or the USD/A Chinese Currency?

Opened an account with OANDA - Questions...

Hmmmm... Ok... Sorry... Still confused, could someone explain this little detail... In futures you have a certain amount per tick... $5, $12.5, etc... If you have say $1000 and you capture 10 ticks at 10-1 leverage... You get $10? And at 50-1 that would be $50? Wait a minute...

Opened an account with OANDA - Questions...

I just opened and verified an account with OANDA... I can't seem to find their FAQ. Never traded direct FX before. Just options, forex futures, and equities. As far as I know FX brokers have no commissions, correct? They just make money off the spread. Anyone know what the minimum...

What trading timeframe do you most use for equities?

I do glance at the daily and weekly timeframes. The most important timeframes to watch are the ones that the majority of traders are watching. Otherwise it's impossible to properly judge how much fear/euphoria they are feeling.

Does anyone in here know if OptionsHouse is insured? Stock options accounts have the same 250k securities insurance as normal equities accounts, correct?

I think most traders just go Tapioca.

The OP is correct! In all forms of gambling... If you don't hold your sh*t together the other players are going to take you for all you got. Be strong! Be stubborn!

What trading timeframe do you most use for equities?

Curious what the most commonly most used time timeframes are... This is for traders of stocks to equities futures. I have read that it is the 3m, 5m, 15m, and 60m are the most common. I prefer the 15m and 60m. If you use multiple timeframes just select the primary one you trade your...

How many of you got faked out today?

The market doesn't care what your position is. Don't ask it to do anything. It's just reacting to supply and demand.
