Leverage, I dont understand the principle of it...

Do a bit of research on why certain markets require leverage as a basis for their existance. You can start here but if you want a thorough education on the uses, advantages, and disadvantages I'd suggest you spend some time googling it. The reality is that professional traders...

Why do I see "Trends" in Randomly Generated Data?

Tracking 2 std dev's is just scratching the surface in statistical analysis. This is the program I completed and it goes waaaaaay past measuring how far a data set is moving from the mean. http://www.iit.edu/mathematical_finance/academics/index.shtml#program_requirements

Why do I see "Trends" in Randomly Generated Data?

The markets have an element of randomness and non-randomness. On an intra-day basis the market is largely random and as such, statistical analysis should be the primary tool. That being said, however, one shouldn't throw technical analysis out the window because it is also a useful tool even...

I would agree with all of this, especially L2. It's completely useless.

    Stop Using Stop Losses

Stops are grossly misunderstood. Most traders think if you have a 4 point target and a 2 point loss your risk/reward is 2:1. Nothing could be farther from the truth. In a random environment how could one know which will occur first or even if the 4 point move will occur at all. And then...

    What is your edge ?

This pretty much nails it: "The reality in trading is that you are your own edge. It’s in the gray matter between your ears. More specifically, your edge is your ability to adapt to whatever you see in the market. Call it cognitive flexibility, or whatever you want, but this is the reality...

Unemployed, No Income and I Owe Tax

And you will probably be assigned to a POS doctor who barely speaks English. That assumes the state you live in will even accept you in the Medicaid plan seeing as the Supreme Court ruled they doht' have to expand the program.

Mirror mirror on the wall, whose the fairest tax of them all?

+1 Scat. So many blame their lack of success on "the system" and fail to take responsibility for their future. Your life will be what you make of it. You are in full control of your own destiny -- it's simply that simple. In most respects, we are all created fairly equally but a small...

Warning: There's A Killer On The Loose!

ummm....the Android is already doing this and even though it's not talked about all Apple products are doing it to. Even Elite Trader is "watching you :D". They know who you are. One look at your IP address and they have your name, address, and probably much more. Welcome to the...

    Well, I gotta go

OT, I don't trade currencies much but when I do it's typically the USD. I've found this instrument behaves more rationally than the others and doesn't tend to give you, "where the f... did that come from." It behaves more like the futures market or even somewhat like the stock market. Good...

    TA debunked

Well said. The only thing I would add to this is that trading is more of an art than a science. Put two traders on the same chart and you'll get two different results. Kudos for using statistical analysis. The market is really nothing more than data (largely random) so what better tool to...

    Best Anti Virus

Apple :) Kidding aside, I like Spyware Doctor and Super Antispyware. Doctor is 30 per year for 3 licenses and Super has a free and pay for version. I use the free one. I'm pleased with the performance of both but Doctor is definitely a resource hog.

Apple is trading below the 50 on the dailies but it's looking a bit bullish. The weeklies are definitely in bull mode. If the correction continues will the 50 on the weeklies hold?
