    The Bankruptcy of NFLX (Netflix)

He could very well be right. I haven't followed the firm that closely but I do believe they were counting free trial subs as actual paying subs, much the way AOL did back in the day. Whatever the case, streaming movies is a very easy business model to copy. Nobody really wanted to compete...

Rick Perry -- Bankers' Newest Victim

Alas! A guy who actually understands the inner workings of American Corporatist Politics. Kudos to you plyka! You are one of the few. The US of 1792 is not the US of 2011. We no longer live in a Capitalistic Society, we live in a Corporatist Society. The US is following the path of Rome...

Rick Perry -- Bankers' Newest Victim

Thank You! I'm amazed at how ignorant people are about who runs the government and how corporations take over a country. 99.9% of the population believes we still live in a free society where your vote actually counts. Oldtime is obviously one of the 99.9%. You get to vote for who the...

Rick Perry -- Bankers' Newest Victim

The banks control the entire fucking country, for pete's sake. Were you asleep all year during 2008? Did you miss the biggest heist in history?

Lost Generation, wow sucks to be young today.

My wife voted for that tool and cried during his speech. She's still crying but for a different reason. FWIW, I didn't vote for either. If only we got to chose the candidates that get paraded in front of us. The elections in the US are a sham. It's designed in such a way that you or I don't...

We're going to keep smoking crack until sanity returns

Funny but true. If you don't go to church and toss your money in the basket you're going to hell. Government elections/policies work the same way. "If we don't do 'this' the country will collapse." GS "too big to fail." That's laughable. Lehman failed. What happened? Nothing. To...

Obamanomics- Work less to make more!

Exactly. You can even send a birthday card electronically. The Post Office has quickly become irrelevant.

Obamanomics- Work less to make more!

True. It can't be an across the board cut. There would have to be essential things like correspondance from/to the IRS. Things like utility bills need not come in the mail. There are websites where you can pay your utilities at no extra charge. Personally, I pay them through my bank the way...

Obamanomics- Work less to make more!

How about everyone face the facts that the world has gone electronic and the USPS is a defunct business model. Keep it around for essential kinds of things and everything else is electronic. The only people I know who get credit card bills, and such, through snail mail are generally over 70...

UBS rogue trader loses $2 billion

It somehow makes you wonder if this was "allowed" to happen and the "Rogue" trader was a scapegoat. Did UBS lose the $2B some other way? Only the fly on the wall knows for sure.

UBS rogue trader loses $2 billion

That's a very valid point but as you noted there are exceptions to the rule. With the right training the success rate in the prop shop I worked at was 50%. Although, of that 50% not all made enough to make a living at trading.

What demographic is most likely to lose in trading?

This is complete nonsense. I've been trading for more than 20 years and while I haven't been in the + column every year I've made a darn good living trading. I've made much more money than I ever would have made "working for the man."

UBS rogue trader loses $2 billion

Same here. At the firm I worked at all positions showed up on the risk manager's screen and there was a max loss for the day. If you hit it you got all the other traders coffee and donuts the rest of the day :D. Oddly enough, this firm insisted on stop losses. It wasn't until I proved myself...

UBS rogue trader loses $2 billion

Why is it that every clown on ET is so friggin addicted to that damn stop loss. That's the reason 95% of traders fail. The other 5% are the ones who have learned there are other ways to manage risk besides the damn stop loss. Try a little basic math and see what you can find about managing...

$14 trillion dollar IRS tax lien on Federal land

I doubt this is true. The FED is exempt from paying Federal Taxes. It was written into law in 1913. http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/12/531.html

    $250,000 per JOB!!!!

Don't forget Obamacare, which requires employers with greater than 50 employees to provide health care insurance or face stiff fines. For small businesses with more than 50 employees this is certainly a motivating factor not to hire that next employee, especially if they wouldn't otherwise...
