    Poker and the Beginning Trader

True, especially in low-limit and early stages of micro NL games, where the bet size and the miniscule consequence of a loss will not have any impact on players' psychology. This is a great thread--hats off to TraderNik. I took me a while to catch up since registration at ET. I...

Started As Stock-Picker,Or Straight To Futures/Daytrading?

I was just looking at an ad in Futures magazine, which could be of interest to you. Call 1-800-441-1616 or visit www.rjofutures.com to receive a Free Chicago Merchantile Exchange Trading E-Mini Futures CD. I don't know CD's content but it should be educational. It should be enough to get...

Started As Stock-Picker,Or Straight To Futures/Daytrading?

I started investing in stocks 8-9 years ago and then was "seduced" by the futures market. And I was thrilled that I made $1000 a couple of times while having lunch in front of a screen--I had a job then and it was the big S&P contract when a point was $500 and no electronic trading. Then I...

    Hedging for OEX/XEO Spreads

    Hedging for OEX/XEO Spreads

Thanks, Hello Dollar, for your comment. If I had bought ES pre-mkt today at 1140, a realistic entry, I could have made 3-4 points quickly, enough to make up for the loss in the short credit call on OEX. After all, -20 delta is not a lot. But then again, I am afraid I would be tempted to...

    Hedging for OEX/XEO Spreads

Hmm, didn't think of ES in this case. Just afraid that ES is a beast compared to the relatively tame credit spread. tc

    Hedging for OEX/XEO Spreads

This is an invitation for comment from the veteran optioneers, from whose posts here I have learned quite a lot. I have been experimenting with various options strategies and now decided to focus more on OEX vertical spreads, one leg at a time and, if opportunity arises, morph the position...

    Day Trading Methods

I read this thread and others in ET with great interest. I am relatively new trader, having been paying my dues during the last year, getting my feet wet in everything, from stocks to options (various spreads) to e-mini and oscillating between different time frames. From my experience...
