what is your feeling about IB

CalTrader, in many cases, what you said is definitely true - you do want to convert the person into your own client, but not if the client is obviously way more headache than they are worth. That is not to say that every complaining person should just shut up and take it. However in this case, I...

what is your feeling about IB

CalTrader, I am the CEO of "some" company, and really do not want him as my client. I thought I made that pretty obvious. And, I am not going to kiss someone's ass, or hold back my opinion just because they are a potential client. That's selling out. As to why I care - "Ignore" does not...

what is your feeling about IB

Can the moderator please take of this moron? I think he got a wrong hande. Should be OverTheEdge. One thread was already closed because of this exact discussion. This should be the second one.

Suggestions for Software and other misc.

Well, not quite. IB does not provide backfill data, at least not yet. I keep hearing that it is something being worked on, but don't know any more on the subject beyond that. Therefore, if you are running QT during the day and it is getting quotes, after 5 days you will have full 5 day charts...

demonet, I am pretty sure that with eSignal, you have to use eSignal data. Your other option (no pun intended) would be to use another program (hint hint - QuoteTracker) with IB data for options, thus not increasing your cost (or increasing it minimally if you register QT) If you are only...

    IB API (again....)....

Bob, if there is a trade, IB will send an update for the cumulative volume. You should watch that if you want to know when a trade occurs, not just LAST.

    Understanding IB

No, IB does not pay me money. don't make assumptions. I have posted my share of bitching about IB. I have no objections to your first post flaming them today. However, we don't need to hear about your problems on EVERY thread.

    Understanding IB

OnTheEdge - I think one flame post was more than sufficent. 2 was a bit much. However, we don't need to see a continuous stream of your bitching on every thread related to IB.

    IB Data???

actually, adding the historical intraday data is going to reduce the load. If the user knows that they do not have to have all the symbols streaming just to get charts on them later (since they will be able to backfill), they are likely to track less symbols at a time and just backfill charts as...

    IB Data???

QdzResurrection, in this field, you NEVER want to add delay. As for refresh, thats just not the way things work. If you add levels of service, there is a simpler approach - just charge for higher max # of quotes above 40 (40 is really the bare bone minimum).

    IB Data???

Def, I speak from experience - TICK/TRIN are by far the most requested indices that we see. If there is no financial roadblock, you will make A LOT of clients happy by just adding these 2 indices. Well, 4 - TICK/TRIN for NYSE and more importantly TICK/TRIN for NASDAQ. We see more...

    Mytrack functionality question

Don't know. It may be that they are tracking the tick volumes and generating the cumulative volume from that on the fly. Would have to try during the day

    Mytrack functionality question

which specific symbols are you looking for? SP`Z? If so, I just checked through QuoteTracker/myTrack and got: LAST 1022.10 CHANGE +0.8 VOL 419

    Mytrack functionality question

the replies given by H2O and maxpi are correct. As for Level II, I believe you just pay the exchange fee. nothing extra other than that.

    Free Real Time Charts

http://www.quotetracker.com You can use your broker as a quote feed in QuoteTracker. If your broker is not supported, you can use Scottrade free quotes as the source, though the other sources QT supports are much better.

Suggestions for Software and other misc.

Wealth-Lab link for QT in English: http://www.wealth-lab.com/cgi-bin/WealthLab.DLL/getpage?page=QuoteTracker.htm QuoteTracker lets you combine data from different datafeeds at the same time. therefore, you can trade through IB, get Level I quotes from MarketFeed, and Level II from Money.net...

Suggestions for Software and other misc.

why would that be odd? I think you are mixing things up a bit. What datafeed you use will in no way affect how your orders are executed. The quotes are based on executed orders, not the other way around. You are just choosing who is going to provide the quotes. It is definitly a false...

POLL...Best API for for IB order entry...

Let me try to put an end to the IB streaming/snapshot debate. There are enough wrong comments on both sides of the argument. 1) IB Datafeed is STREAMING. It just isn't tick-by-tick. Its MAX update rate per symbol is 0.7 or 0.5 or whatever. There is a big difference between that and snapshot...
