I sincerely thought about what the NRA said, but where do you draw the line? Are you going to have cops at every mall, Walmart, place of worship, etc? In Newtown we have 7 public schools and 33 police officers. You would need at least 2 per school, because activities happen from 6am-10pm...

That's just false. The fact is that states with more gun control have fewer gun related deaths.

If guns were outlawed, it would take time to get most of the guns off of the streets, but the homicide rate would drop significantly 20 years from that point.

Do you actually expect a principal to perform like a trained cop? Cops go through hundreds of hours of training.

Look at Britain. Their cities have less gun deaths than our cities. Their suburbs have less gun deaths than our suburbs. The gun death rate is lower in every other wealthy country by a lot. It's not even close.

A ban on assault weapons was ruled constitutional in 1994. It expired in 2004. I don't think it's unrealistic for it to be reinstated.
