Europe strikes deal to push cost of bank failure on investors

Kinda what I was alluding to. The metals were a fear trade combined with a cyclical bull market all wrapped up with hyperinflationary bow. There may be merit to buying up some physical metal once the current metals bear market ends and before the next cycle of bursting bubbles.

Europe strikes deal to push cost of bank failure on investors

Good discussion. I guess bank runs which is the reason put forth for central banking in the first place is gonna come back into vogue? How about .gov selling bonds for various Dept's and not just US Treasuries. I'd favor a bond in the DHS over say US Dept of Education. The whole...

Europe strikes deal to push cost of bank failure on investors

I agree with most of what you say. It has to do with the seniority of the debt instrument I suppose. Checking and savings deposits need to be protected as much as possible otherwise all trust in the financial system will collapse. It is a faith based system. If banks are no longer trusted the...

Europe strikes deal to push cost of bank failure on investors

Agreed investors should take the hit not the tax payers or depositers. not depositors. In my title it just says investors (my mistake). But reading the fine print it also mentions depositors over 100K. How can depositors be asked to fund banks risk? The depositors will just flee. The next...

Ammo's call was correct. We are testing the 50d ma from below. Gap at 1633. End of month money flows. Pre-holiday. My cycle charts are just scenarios that "could" happen. Ammo's scenario is more plausible today. Break 50d ma to the upside fill gap from June 20th and then retest low...

Thanks. No one gets it perfect. For the record I'm flat on options and futures. Awaiting a better set-up either long or short. I may scalp or do a half-day swing trade. I have a few individual equity trades but other wise long cash for now. Thanks for the charts

I've been pretty up front with my trades posted on ET. I was long CS for a year---doubled and now out. Short at the key reversal entry was 1668ish now flat. Also closed the straddle. Both of these were great trades. I'm long GRPN still holding. I have other trades but those are...

Shorts are gonna get cooked if we don't turn around soon cause the uptrend has not been broken. Stick save at support or? This would be a bit unusual for such a sharp reversal but who knows really? I have said the market's gonna go higher but to turn around this quickly. Sheesh. We are...

    Look at silver go (down)!

Yeah. Bearish on metals for a long time. I think the longs continue to peel out of their positions as they slowly realize there is no bottom in sight and who knows how low we go.

Low volume ramp. Volume? I d not pay much attention unless it is down volume. Up volume doesn't do much for my analysis.

Thanks for the chart. My cycle generator says low for the week of July 4th and with it falling on a Thursday that would put the temporary low on the 2nd or 3rd or 5th. Then a lower low to be made in Oct or Nov.Followed by a fierce rally into 2014 when the world doesn't come unraveled

True. One of the things that confounded so many traders was "Why is the market climbing when we are in a recession?" The world's CB's coordinated an expansion of credit to counteract the deflationary forces at hand. Now with interest rates bottomed out (end of a 30 year bond bull market)...

Today is a "rebalancing" day. Spastic fit gaps to suck money from newly positioned money as they puke with a little pressure. Don't be fooled. Most of the gaps are to be faded unlike the two runaway gaps at the beginning of the move. That's why some argue that trading is hard and that...

Today was an interesting day in SP500. A significant gap lower on Asia's weakness. Continued selling but at modest volume to support at 1560ish all morning. We did break below another barrier 1575-1580. We rallied hard all afternoon and almost reached the zero line before giving up most...

Funny how this morning was armageddon and now it's buy, buy, buy. I would think given the steep nature of the sell-off there will be time to establish a bottom. I think we have a double bottom with 4-8 weeks between the two bottoms and a sideways rising then falling period between the two...

Be ready to buy. After this sell-off. Will likely have several good buy points this summer. One will be in a week or so, another in August. But then expect stocks to launch. Equity premium models predicting excess returns for S&P 500 for next five years: NY Fed researchers May 8...
