    If you own property in Canada then you are gaining US Dollars. I live in Vancouver and not only has my place gone up in Canadian dollars it has increased even more in US Dollars, which is the worlds currency.     All that "automated program" does is place a point at the highs and lows and then connects the points in a straight line, similiar to this. You don't need a program to do that.

    What do you guys think of this naked put trade? I havent entered it, just looking. ENZ @ $12.76 Sell May 12.50 Puts @ $1.15 1 year chart looks good, but the last 6 months has me worried. Range bound and VERY expensive options, something is up.

    Percent to Double

    You would always have to re-calculate since IV and time to expiry changes. You could just look at the option chain and do a quick calculation in you head to figure out the % move required to double the option.

    You have noticed a pattern, in both cases ACL trended up after earnings. I would recommend buying ATM CALLS a day or two AFTER earnings, IV will have dropped and you can ride the wave back up. I don't think a straddle before earnings will produce a profit in your example, any profit you do...

    My guess is GOOG. I think you would get more help and advice if in your original post you stated the exact position you have. What you might think is a "April call vertical, and an April put vertical" might actually be something else. Stock, Strike Prices, Expiry, Date Entered and Fill Prices...
