    Posts started two years ago?

Somebody keeps responding to threads started two years ago and wasting everybody's time looking at them. I've noticed it in several areas. Any way to archive them so they can't be resurrected?

    Excellent article from market ticker.

That's why I posted it in "economics" forum rather than the trading forum. Of course it has no bearing on day to day trading, it does offer an opinion of the long range outlook. Also, I tend to agree with the author that calling an end to the recession at this point is foolish. Relying on...

    Excellent article from market ticker.

What portion of the deleveraging process is default? That money is effectivly "thrown on the barbie". The point is that further growth in GDP is dependent upon increased credit. Real wages have not been increasing enough to grow our economy.

    Excellent article from market ticker.

Xenix, It isn't so much of "what" people have been purchasing with credit, it is more the fact that they HAVE been using credit. Every penny spent whether on credit or from income is a component of the GDP. People have hit a wall, they are maxed out & do not have the ability/desire...

    I'm Starting A Manure Business

My former employer shut down the factory and shifted production to a newly built plant in Mexico. The production workers at this plant were making 25 dollars an hour. A total of 750 people lost these jobs. They will never find a job paying that kind of money without significant retraining. Most...

    I'm Starting A Manure Business

I couldn't find a sarcasm smilie- but surely it was obvious:confused: I wonder how many people have trashed their credit so badly in this downturn that they will not have access to ANY credit for years? They were the people who fueled growth by spending more they they could ever hope to repay.

    I'm Starting A Manure Business

Ah, come on Buylo, we just had a little overheating in the real estate sector- no big deal. We are going to climb right back up to the highs we saw before the problems started. I give it another six months and all that pent up demand will be unleashed, people will start borrowing &...

Short now when you still have the chance

Short as soon as I decide to get rid of all my SPX puts, that will be the trigger for a collapse. Better yet, wait until I sell them and go long.:(

GDP growth better than expected. Who says this rally is not deserved?

A decrease of 1% from last months decrease of 6.4% is an improvement? Four straight quarters of decline in the GDP is an improvement? I am an unfortunate product of public schools so bear with me. I always thought "improvement" would be indicated by a change in direction towards positive...

Living paycheck to paycheck - must be hard wired

Nutmeg, when they ask for a loan just tell them NO. After a while they will realize that being broke is no way to live their lives. They will start thinking about how they spend their money & try to conserve it. If you really want to drive the lesson home offer them terms for the loan 10 for...

    Bankruptcy or charge off ???

If you get them to settle for a reduced amount you need to get it in writing that clearly states that the debt is settled in full for (x) amount of dollars. Also save the cancelled check. You will need to retain this information for the rest of your life because they may attempt to come...

Administration Delaying Release of Key Economic Report

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/20/AR2009072002277_pf.html The Obama administration is delaying release of a congressionally mandated report on the nation's economic conditions, spawning speculation that it is trying to tamp down bad economic news to avoid further...

    Bankruptcy or charge off ???

I agree- total falsehood. The SOL is specific- depending on your state it stops after a certain period of inactivity. Calling you to ask about the debt does not reset the clock. A payment on the account will.
