Online colleges accelerating at a "crazy fast" pace.

If anyone else is considering doing this PLEASE look at LSU distance learning. They offer distance and online accounting courses (and many other courses) for 425 dollars a class. You get credits from Louisiana State University that transfer anywhere. I don't know what the University of...

Online colleges accelerating at a "crazy fast" pace.

Oh, don't get me started about the bullshit "social sciences" courses people are required to take. I ask you this- If an accounting major is required to take " Social issues of the 60's" or some other such nonsense WHY IS IT that a "Social sciences" major is not required to take "Cost...

Online colleges accelerating at a "crazy fast" pace.

Kids are getting financially raped by "higher education". You can read a book (50 bucks) and take a test to "prove" you learned the material. The cost would be under 100 dollars. You sit in a classroom, buy the book and listen to an instructor drone on and on about the stuff it your book...

Online colleges accelerating at a "crazy fast" pace.

I think online education is going to take off. Not the "University of Phoenix" or "DeVry" type of for profit schools but in traditional schools. The University of Alabama, University of Maryland and Louisiana State University already have 100% online degree programs. I think elementary...

3 killed in Boston...I count 5 killed this weekend in Chicago...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-125820/US-bomb-kills-30-Afghan-wedding.html What do we expect? In just one example we killed 30 people at an Afghan wedding with our terror attacks. Every once in a while you would expect our enemy to pull off one too.

How do you deal with the IRS?

Come to Tennessee- No State income tax. There is the "Hall tax" which taxes interest and dividend income at 6% but it specifically exempts capital gains from the tax. Plus we have Hillbillys.........:D

The startling rise of disability in America

I think in the case of my neighbor it made more sense to get disability. He is in his early 60's and probably wouldn't pass a truck driving physical with his medical issues. His only other choices in our area would probably be temp work at 8 bucks an hour and no benefits. That works out to 320...

The startling rise of disability in America

My neighbor got on disability although I question the decision made by social security. I see him out working on his property all the time. He added on a deck/sun porch, has an acre garden, tends to a flock of goats and chickens and walks three or four miles a day. He was a truck driver that...

    Restaurants are full or not

I tend to believe the numbers rather than anecdotal observations. It's the same thing when people say "The malls are packed so the economy must be good". All that matters are the sales numbers. My opinion? I have to think the return to normal payroll tax levels AND 3.50 a gallon gasoline HAS...

    Learning Technical analysis?

Perhaps technical analysis IS worthless as your link indicates however a whole lot of people use it. In my opinion it would be worth learning if just to know what others are doing. I WILL read your link though this evening :)

    Learning Technical analysis?

I really want to understand technical analysis better. I was wondering if studying for the CMT test would be a good start? I know there are thousands of books related to technical analysis and some are better than others. I looked at the MTA website at the recommended reading list for all...

Help with my 1st GUN purchase

That's it but I recall the term as Brasf. I do now recall the R was for relax instead of release. I could have sworn it was "squeeze, Fire" but then again I can't remember what I had for dinner last night so........ I went to boot in 1981 (plt 1010) so I am trying to remember something from...

Help with my 1st GUN purchase

I think it is a "moot point" anyways. The gun stores are cleaned out of anything that resembles an AR and there are huge backorders. I have heard there are over a million backorders for AR 30 round magazines as well. I just went to my favorite ammo store online- "Ammoman.com" and they have...

Help with my 1st GUN purchase

I think the acronym they used at Parris Island was "Brasf" which stood for breathe, release, aim, squeeze, fire. If I recall correctly you took a breath, released half of it, aimed , squeezed the trigger and fired. We shot at targets from 460 meters (really big targets ) :D and I was able...

Help with my 1st GUN purchase

165 grains (308) vs 55 grains(223) http://www.hornady.com/assets/files/ballistics/2012CatalogCenterSpread.pdf It's all about the deliverable. How much energy are you delivering to the target? Look at the ballistics chart and tell me you want a .223 at 500 yards.......:D
