    Simple Profitable Method

<b>Steve</b>, you are absolutely right about my total disinterest in mechanical systems. I've spent enough time in that world on the retail trader's side to satiate any personal desire at this time. If by chance we see someone post real time, eye-popping results in P&L 2007 thread from a...

The Official VIPER I.B. Reports Thread

<i>"by the way, if you can guess what language the intro is in..."</i> Sounds a lot like my Cajun friends down in Lousiana swamps, trapping muskrats, beaver & nutria this time of the year.

    Simple Profitable Method

<b>Dragon</b>, while it appears this thread may very well implode upon itself soon, my sincere congrats to what you have accomplished in systematic fashion. What you have done is not duplicatible (for a number of reasons) by many, if any of the other people here. We all evolve thru our own...

    Simple Profitable Method

<b>Steve46</b> is correct on simpler being better = best. The more experienced a trader becomes, the fewer indicators one needs to profit with. Chart indicators give a visual look at when / where price direction appears to be changing. Too many indicators cloud the picture in real time...

    Simple Profitable Method

<i>"But ive backtested the hell out of thousands of combinations of the kind of indicators you are using and I know they are worthless."</i> As a retired systems writer, I can tell you these indicators are 100% worthless for mechanical system success. However, they do indicate price strength...

I told you there was "NO FEAR"

<i>"It isn't money anymore, but rather a temporary psychological trick."</i> We will live to see the time when the USD illusion is revealed. Eventually the U.S. will have sponsored too many wars / rebuilds, tilted the trade imbalance too far for too long and no longer has means to aptly back...

any good chat rooms in Paltalk & Hotcomm?

<i>"But Irc doesn't have voice. Not sure how they educate without voice. The trader wouldn't be able to pay attention to the market if he has to read the chat room all the time."</i> Assume fifty traders are members in the room. It is 100% audio from the moderator's side, with live streaming...

any good chat rooms in Paltalk & Hotcomm?

zxcv1fu Registered: Aug 2001 Posts: 902 01-09-07 10:26 AM <i>Very interesting! First I feel since I started the thread I am responsible to make sure others to do need to waste time reading pages of posts to gather the information. This is what I wish others did to save time. Time is...

    Coiled Markets - Opinions?

<b>Delirious</b>, I appreciate the very kind words... and I hope everyone knows that you & I are not the same person. The only bio I will ever post in here is my own, and any moderator is welcome to verify that fact upon request from anyone at any time. * I would be most grateful to be...

    Coiled Markets - Opinions?

Dear CV, et al, I retired from active posting in ET due to posts & threads just like this one. Too many people forming assumptions without knowledge or information. When I was here before, my only desire was to hang out and offer some helpful advice wherever possible. That's it, nothing...

No offense taken, <b>Joab</b>. Please keep up the excellent work. As for me, I'm retired from ET tonight. There simply is no place for me in this forum: the "taint" of a vendor carries prejudice, right or wrong. On the other side of this coin, I work with people every day who tell me my info has...

<i>"Austin Quoting eminem LOL sheesh between you, prof and steve46 I've never seen such a bunch of needy attention hogs, the worst part is all three of you are completely self delusional. <u>Do us all a favor and just trade</u> and stop talking please."</i> <b>joab</b>, I always...

JJ, you are right about all that... one reason why you are squarely on the long road to success in our profession. To quote Eminem; <i>"I am what you say I am."</i> Whatever anyone thinks of me is their perception, and perception is reality. <i>"A man convinced against his will is of the...

    Corrected Moving Average

Sure it does... if you like to trade the smaller charts. I like the bigger charts, personal preference. One of the more successful ER traders I know uses a 620 tick chart, hull ma and price patterns to make consistent money with. To each their own, right?

    Corrected Moving Average

Veddie, I personally trade the 15min chart alone. Many/most intraday traders cringe at the thought... it's what works for me personally :>)

I've always used even-number MA values without a hitch, so have 1,000s of other traders. Not sure what source you are referencing from (?)

    Corrected Moving Average

jthma is a smoothed, weighted MA tool. I've used it in the past with positive results, it has merit but no different than simple or exponential values. Not part of my personal trading approach, but I know traders who use it alone or in conjunction with other filters effectively.

    KingfishTraders

per my evolution of trading = methods: When I switched from swing trading to short-term trading in late 1999, I used 60/30min charts with stoch, macd divergences. Then added pivots... it all made money from 2000 ~ 2003. When volatility waned and dried up thru 2004 - 2006, I adjusted...
