I agree with that. If you dont: ABX, GG as stocks. When the start they continue very often. Also, look at pairs, the price of one stock divided by another. You go long one and short the other. Examples: VLO:XOM, QQQQ:SPY, ... you can plat that with stockcharts.com or esignal (QQQQ/SPY).

Yeah, this is it. Play the numbers. It's all about positive expectation. A lot of small (or big) wins, a lot of small loss and the wins must exceed the losses. Also, get a broker where you pay low comission of your going to daytrade. Much less of an issue for swing trading.

As long as I know the market tanked most last year when they prohibited naked short selling. The uptick may not be the answer. Many short sellers are scalper and buy back their shares intraday, therefore creating liquidity.

You mean it predicts the close will be up or down? Then your stop could be based on a bactest that could show by how much it retraces on average before clossing down. Maybe over a certain % there is no coming back on the red on average and you should stop out.

I think you have to be more specific. What is it you want to do? do you expect a pay check or can just live of the payout? There are so many threads talking about prop firms here you could give a shot at the search.
