How to trade the upcoming bitcoin forks?

Probably not too many traders of cryptos here, but still... discuss trade opps when possible. Bitcoin has been going up, $4617/btc on gdax currently, and the plausible explanation is the upcoming forks (October 25 and in November). If it plays out same as last time, hodlers of bitcoin will get...

What is your prediction for BTC?

Thanks for the explanation. In my amateur view it seemed to bounce back and forth high 3k and low 3k, but now above $4400, and we are at "sell the news" part as the closures of Chinese exchanges are here. We have another event coming up, possible fork for Bitcoin Gold Oct 25...

What is your prediction for BTC?

Good trading call, but in crypto, things happen quickly. Bitcoin at the top of the range ($4379 on gdax, currently), what to do? Sell/short but could breakout and surpass ath $5K?

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

Touche'. Trading on fundamentals is still trading, but you still have to trade. Short bitcoin or put positions that will profit if bitcoin crashes instead of just arguing against it.

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

I think a philosophical or political discussion is appropriate, but this is a trading site and we're here to make money! It seems to me many bashers are just people who can't make any money trading cryptos, but I could be wrong.

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

I'm not a tax expert and I've been going to the same licensed tax preparer for the past 20 years. My limited understanding is that bitcoin is property and taxable as such, so you can google same as me "how much capital gains tax on property $5,000 sale". I plan to let my tax preparer know when I...

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

If you look at my previous posts, I'm not an advocate of bitcoin as money. Monero is the proper digital currency equal to the mighty $ as being completely fungible and private. Bitcoin has always been a speculative investment for me and a store of value. Both of which are being helped immensely...

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

We spent over $300 in WholeFoods groceries (US Labor day weekend) and I bought $981 worth of tech stuff this week. I used bitcoin and I don't have a single penny from the transaction. Can we call it alternative currency? :D

    When will bitcoin hit $5000?

I guess it qualifies for hitting $5K. That was a quick $500+ sell off after hitting it, so a true resistance. It's hovering $4650'sh on GDAX currently.

I can answer to this. With Pokerstars, they did not go after the users. Yea, we can play all we want. Cashing out? Can't. No bank would deal with it. At first, Pokerstars was sending me physical checks in the mail. Until one of their executives got arrested in New York on a layover. They will...

Apologies my friend. Sometimes typing too fast without reviewing it. Appreciate the advise. I've held on for years and yes, I am aware the success of the trades is giving me overconfidence. It was a trade with consideration of the risk of a complete loss which made it easy to hold on through the...

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. This is a trading site. Market is the one that dictates the price not anything that's posted on the forums. Bitpay is a payment processor. Maybe that will light a bulb over your head. I highly doubt it. Goodnight my friend...

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

Very simple. He wanted the house, he got the house using bitcoin. He didn't want the fiat. Clear? He got change out of the deal. Again, it's dirty fiat. He didn't want it. Used it to buy the car. Clearer? I want to buy a laptop so I get a gift card with bitcoin, I get the laptop. What's hard to...

You will sell your house for fiat... You just didn't know the money came from bitcoin. Same as the dealer who sold the Lamborghini. The exchange gave them the fiat. http://www.nasdaq.com/article/man-accidentally-makes-13-million-buying-a-house-with-bitcoin-cm738868

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

Calm down, my friend. Fomo is a bitch, but don't let it make you lose your cool. I don't need to explain anything as to why bitcoin is going up. I'm happy with it. You're not so all you need to do is go on TV or hire a marketing company to let everyone know bitcoin is worthless.
