    Don Bright's system

Be wary of he who comes bearing gifts.....you don't want to learn just enough to get into trouble, you want to learn how to run this strategy so that you CAN make consistent money with it. That means running it like a business. It's the little things that make a big difference with this...

    Don Bright's system

The fish in my streams and rivers are still bountiful, perhaps it because I focus on staying one step ahead of the pack, perhaps it's because I have a multi strategy, multi market, multi time frame approach, or maybe I am just lucky and will find myself blown out here in the near future! I...

    Same as London Terror Attacks.

What's next...your newsletter? Perhaps a cheesy book on trading? So you bought stocks this morning and perhaps sold oil.....what good trader didn't? I sold oil stocks, bought several dow stocks, tech, shorted crude oil, bought SEP S&P, and shorted eurocurrency. All you had to do today was...

    Taking bets on FNM here....

Well....so far I made over a buck, Trade some, hold some, that's my game plan. It's just a game of probablilities and risk management, that's why I took the trade. Good trading to all! Mike

    What are good commission rates?

Do you have capital up? Are you taking risk? Any other fees that are relevant? The details are really the key here, although, as I understand your deal, I think it is pretty fair.

Interactive Brokers Order Placement vs. Pit Trading

YOu won't be able to do this in real time trading....their are many out there that automatically arb these opportunites when they are present and don't happen often these days. Stale quotes is most likely the culprit. As for buying the bid and selling the ask, well, the e-mini's have...

Don's openings and more for 2005

I have to agree with lescor on this one. This year has been good, heck I have had my single best day ever. August has been tough, if you don't tend to your losers, they become very large losers. The specialists seem to be playing some games as well. Slightly profitable here as well, but...

Volatility-Based Stop Loss for Trading ES / YM

Thanks for the feedback....but tharp et al don't pass muster for me. You know what they say, those who can trade....trade, those who can't...well...write books. I am speaking tongue in cheek :), but the truth is I have never had a strategy learned out of one of my hundreds of trading books...

Volatility-Based Stop Loss for Trading ES / YM

Perhaps you could point me in the direction of some of this research. I use current VOL for today's trades, but I am not sure that the results I would get on my swing trades would be improved. I am always open to improving my game. Good trading! Mike

    Need Some Advice....

When I started in this business, I had 25k, 1 years worth of savings, and was willing to do whatever it took to "make it!" 2 months into it, I lost half of my money and was looking for options! I searched for a mentor, and found one. I needed a framework to work with, and all of my previous...

Interactive Brokers Order Placement vs. Pit Trading

Your math is correct, however, if you listened to the pit today, they were .50 wide most of the day, and the slippage this week has been .50. My conclusion, In times of liquidity, go to the pit, during slow inactive times, you are better with the emini.

Volatility-Based Stop Loss for Trading ES / YM

More sophisticated does not necessarily mean better results. I let the market determine my targets and stops for the day on my futures trades(Day trade only). Equities, I use a broad based dollar stop. Short term trades, I use a dollar stop. These approaches have served me well. Mike
