    haircut charge

You offer more leverage? With all due respect, I would be very skeptical about that. I have been with several firms over the years, and Bright is the only one that really allows a trader the BP they need when they need it. This capital charge really shouldn't be an issue. You have lots...

    haircut charge

If I'm wrong, I'm sure Don will correct me. One point, you have lots of flexibility in structuring your positions. You can be long Gold, and Oil, short Retail and Financials and still fall within their hedging guidlines.

    haircut charge

We're comparing apples to oranges here. The 2% is for holding hedged positions, Total Long and Short within 20%. (They are pretty liberal on the types of positions, as long as the total long and short $ is within 20%, you'll pay the 2%) If you are holding a straight directional play, 2:1 is...

    haircut charge

You can hold 2:1, after that you pay a pretty high haircut charge, 12% last time I checked. I imagine if you want to hold highly leveraged directional plays overnight, you probably need to run it by them first.

Less than 20% fall in home prices will destroy the banking system?

There aren't margin calls on homes....the majority will remain in their homes and things will be fine so long as employment remains stable and economy remains relatively healthy.

Estimated slippage for heavy volume stocks

Every stock is different, how much volume you want to move, time of day, price of stock, spread on stock etc. High volume Mid caps, you can expect .02 in slippage, as a rough estimate, but every stock varies a bit. (XOM vs C, as an example)

Pentium D and Core 2 Duo--which is better for trading pc?

I had one of those, and replaced it. Just couldn't handle the dual tasks of monitoring real time data in excel, and keep up with the calcs without being at 100%! My new machine handles it with ease, and plenty of power to spare!

    I meet Trump :)

Went right over my head, I guess I'm a little slow today, that housing sell off whacked me pretty hard! I'm still "reeling" from the pain! Guess I'll have to claw my way back out!

    I meet Trump :)

That is the best question you could come up with? He didn't even answer it honestly. Everyone knows she is ultra high maintenance. How about asking Trump, if you were me, how would you go about making your fortune, in today's market? Where do you see the opportunities going forward? What...

Pentium D and Core 2 Duo--which is better for trading pc?

The core 2 duo and duo core's are nice for multitasking. I use excel along with my trading platform to track performance of several different strategies on near a 1000 stocks. I can run both my trading app, and conduct excel real time analysis on the same machine with no noticeable lag. Which...

How Tiger Woods plays golf (from Wikipedia)

Your first post made you seem like your IQ was only slightly above the retarded level...so I figured I'd spell it out for you. Take the first post, Read it again, then write it down, read it again, and keep reading it until you get it. There is true genius in that first post, and once you...

How Tiger Woods plays golf (from Wikipedia)

EMT states you can't beat the markets consistently. A crock of crap put out by a group of hacks that can't beat the market, and need a scapegoat to blame...those who can do...those who can't teach. I don't need to beat the markets to run a profitable trading business, and make alot of money.

How Tiger Woods plays golf (from Wikipedia)

Should be pretty simple to make the connection.....trading is no different. Minimize your losing days. Focusing on achieving consistent results, and be at your best on those few days a year where the market will allow you to make big, profitable trades.

    Quad Monitor Setup

Some of us who trade automated systems, and run multiple strategies across multple accounts and markets need to manage all those sytems, and your cute little set up just won't get it done. :D I have 5 24" and 8 20", and I may have a large ego sometimes...but when it comes to trading, making...
