Futures is up, is collapse over?

This market environment is quite different from the 2000-2001 environment. Throughout this bull phase from 2003 to 2007, people have not really embraced stocks as risk-free and a steady source of returns like they did back from the mid 90s to 2000. People are more hardened and cynical now then...

Futures is up, is collapse over?

Relentless bidding of the futures in the overnight market. Looks like all the fund managers want to get long before they go to bed! With no surprises from GE, I don't see anything preventing a monster rally tomorrow where we'll forget about reality for a day.

    Rally on stimulus package

I just see the market rallying all day on Friday, there is just so much hope out there with this stimulus package, Fed coming up in less than 2 weeks, and people are so afraid to miss "the rally" that they'll pile on tomorrow and we'll probably have an up 3% day and take back all those losses on...

    Rally on stimulus package

$800 per individual. What is America coming to? Can we not have a recession anymore and purge the excesses? Whatever happened to the raw capitalistic America? Now we have bailouts every few years and panicky rate cuts when we see a dip in the markets.

Futures is up, is collapse over?

It would really be sad if Bernanke whored himself again to Wall St. and cut on Friday. Might as well have PPT tattooed on his forehead. Now with the stimulus package, $800 per individual? Are they nuts? With massive budget deficits, where is this money coming from? Money heaven?

Futures is up, is collapse over?

Futures are being milked up here. The overnight market is like Alfred E. Newman. What, me worry????

If we get no surprise cut tomorrow, then..

The markets are oversold. It usually leads to a rally but when it doesn't, it often times leads to a catastrophe. The complacency in the face of such dire markets is indicative of a bull market transforming into a bear. I think more weakness Friday unless we get the rate cut. There is...

    Already pumping the futures higher

I love the input that you've provided for ET, nothing of substance, half your messages are snide remarks about other's posts.

If we get no surprise cut tomorrow, then..

The dip buyers never give up. Another guy gave me a market statistic about there being a 90% NYSE downside volume day and a gap down the next day leading to rallies in all cases for the next day but one over the last 15 years. Guess when the exception was? Yesterday!

    Already pumping the futures higher

People buying ahead of the "surprise" rate cut tomorrow. LOL. We're gonna get a strong open, getting people all frothy again that we've seen a bottom and sell off all day again. Textbook bear market action.

If we get no surprise cut tomorrow, then..

No one will want to hold stocks in the 3 day weekend. This is a murderous market, looking to lop off the heads of any bold bulls. This bear is on steroids and HGH and andro. It is pumped looking to rip off bull hide. All major technical support levels are BROKEN. Welcome to the show.

    Capitulation

This is so discouraging for the bulls. Just a steady drop lower, no capitulation, no cathartic selling, just a bunch of hopeful traders buying dips and trying to sell on the oversold rally. Everyone is a dip buyer these days.

AAPL is still in the green! How can we get a bottom when people are looking at AAPL as a safe haven?

    Capitulation

The final hour will be the tell to see if people still have hope or are going to capitulate. Looks like the buy program is off the books for now.

Longer Term Buy Signals on NQ, YM & SP

Seems like everybody and their mom is anticipating a turn and an oversold bounce. I would think more short-term than long term buys here. I don't think we'll be back to 2007 levels anytime soon.

    Capitulation

I agree, we're still far away from capitulation, too many dip buyers waiting for another sucker's rally, like yesterday and last week and last month, last year................... Only a buy program can save this market today, if this market rebounds it will happen like a rocket, definitely...

What's the play into the close 1-17?

LOL. Bulls are walking on quicksand. Only a lame ass buy program by the PPT can save this market now.

What's the play into the close 1-17?

I called it yesterday to a T, there was a huge buy program that hit at around 2:30 pm. I also called the weak close after I saw the first signs of a sell program at 3:00 pm. Yet people think I called it wrong because they can't read past the first post. Anyway, today's program crystal...
