    My option trades

Today I'm down -15.8% on open May SPY puts (137, 136, 135), a 1,000 contract position. This is such a large % of my money, I am very, very afraid.

"I will help you ... I'm sorry." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY3yzLA-g24 Seriously fucked up scene from American Psycho, but entertaining.

    My option trades

You shouldn't ask me because I've lost a lot of money year to date. I'm not a professional trader. Call me a wanna-be.

    woman traders

I wouldn't call going to a strip club a high risk activity, unless you're referring to your wife finding out, or the guys who give all their money to a stripper. However, I do concur with the addiction to risk analogy in general.

    2012: The Battle for Survival

Any strategy that is tremendously profitable will bound to be discovered and exploited to the point it loses its profitability. Similarly, there are times when price-action based systems lose their effectiveness.

Taking 1million to zero in "n" months.

I don't get why would you want to title a journal taking your account to zero. It's like the person who called himself "failed_trader." Seems like self-sabotage.

    2012: The Battle for Survival

If the odds are against you, such as when gambling in Vegas, the best strategy is to put everything on one gamble. If you have a consistent advantage, then you want to always bet a size that doesn't cause ruin.

    Options House is now junk!!

Anyone have good experiences with Optionhouse? I'm reading mostly negative reviews here. I've tried Interactive Brokers, but their platform isn't very user friendly, imo.

    Optionhouse

Why are there only 2 reviews for Optionhouse? They have the cheapest commissions I'm aware of among retail brokers. Anyone else here trade through them? What you think? Please review. http://www.elitetrader.com/br/?action=view&R_FirmID=255

High conviction trades: can be awesome or devastating

Following Neke's posting about HC, MC, and LC trades, I've been thinking of doing some high conviction trades myself. If you're a pure systems trader, any given trade is the same as any other trade. Therefore, you should risk the same for any given trade. However, if you're a discretionary...

1 in 2 new graduates are jobless or underemployed http://news.yahoo.com/1-2-graduates-jobless-underemployed-140300522.html WASHINGTON (AP) — The college class of 2012 is in for a rude welcome to the world of work. A weak labor market already has left half of young college graduates...

    2012: The Battle for Survival

Quick observation. Neke's losing streak started with cannonballing on BIDU in Jan 2010. I'm shocked he bought $147,300 worth of put options (as well as shorting $108,000 worth of shares) with a $410,000 account. The put option position represented 35.9% of his account, which is a lot. With a...
