Wondered if you were a HP fan (not talking about your laptop)...should've known. :) Added on to my short at 1549.25 with a 2-point stop. As I type this at 1:20 am EDT, last paint is 1547.75, so I'm +5.5 on the initial position and +1.5 on the add-on. I plan to stay in this trade...

Primarily historical price action, secondarily trendlines, and small weight to fibs and pivots (which as a mathematician I don't believe in except for their self-fulfilling-prophecy value, if you know what I mean). Apex's analysis is way more complex and takes lots more factors into account...

Aha, I just read the fine print on the CME site. They say that Globex trading hours are 4:30 PM to 4:15 PM ET. But then in a footnote, they say that they shut the Globex electronic trading platform down for 30 minutes of maintenance from 5:30-6:00 PM CT, but only Monday through Thursday...

I told you it was going to be an interesting Globex session! at 17:10 I went long at 1555.50 and promptly got stopped out on a close stop. At 17:25 I saw ES had penetrated the support zone and got short at 1553.25 with a close stop. At 17:30 all trading halted (or the data feed went...

Well, it's deja vu all over again. We're back at the S/R zone where we started, and we have to watch to see whether we get a reversal to play long or whether support fails and we head to China. It could be an interesting Globex session for a change. I'm not inclined to do anything rash in the...

Crap! Why did "they" have to go and do that? Happened in YM and ER2 also, but hardly anything in NQ.

Second unit long from 1562.50. SS on both units now 1561.25. PT1 1569.75 PT2 1574.75 I will carry these into the Globex if necessary. (Globex has been kind to me lately.)

Hark, do I smell the ever-so-faint odor of buy stops above? L 1563.75 SS 1562.00 (1.75 points) PT 1569.75 (6 points) minimum Above 1565.50 I'll raise the SS. EDIT: Resistance is futile!!! :)

I believe "they" were extending an invitation to those of us who closed out our long positions earlier to get back in. I must confess: I took it. :)

This is a tough audience. If you trade and make money, they criticize you for using too-small stops. If you think about a trade aloud and decide not to take it, they criticize you for even thinking about it. Like I said: tough crowd here. :)

That strikes me as a pretty useless comment. Long history of ES action lagging NQ. Since NQ just made new contract highs, it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect ES will do so as well. Certainly not a sure thing, but a reasonable expectation.

When you're right you're right. Glad I wasn't in a scalping mood. NQ is at new contract highs now. ES has to catch up.

If I was scalping, I think I'd go short here. Speaking of which, where's Oso?

Sure looks a lot like one, doesn't it? Maybe we'll get an entrypoint in the zone after all.

I'd really prefer to see below 1557 (preferably below 1556) as an entry. The lows at 12:37 and 13:01 EDT didn't seem to have enough volume to be convincing (which might be expected at lunchtime). I'd like to see a low with high volume to enter long. Might not happen, but it's what I'd like...

Stopped out for -1.5. This shoots my flag formation all to hell. Color me bearish now. I plan to watch the price action in the 1555-1557 zone; I'll go long on a confirmed reversal there, or go short on a break below 1554.
