We just closed the gap on the ES. Now it's free to move up to new HOD before... :)

Interesting to compare the various equity index futures. NQ is far more bearish than ES, YM slightly more bullish, and ER2 much more bullish. NQ often leads ES on directional changes, sometimes by a day or more.

That's more like it! I think you'll have an opportunity to go long from much lower levels in the fullness of time. Missed your sell stop by one tick at 10:22 EDT. I really want to see this go up 10 points from here before it goes down, but I'm working on a Plan B just in case it doesn't...

If my analysis is correct then short entry will occur after a run of buy stops above 1496. The turn will happen very fast, and so the best short entry tactic may well be a sell-at-market order or even a sell stop order that is trailed up behind the blowoff. It doesn't make sense to miss a 40-...

Amen! I'm looking to go short between 1596.50 and 1502.50, with first PT between 1464.50 and 1455.00 (roughly 40 points) and second PT between 1432.75 and 1425.75 (roughly 70 points). S/R zones are unusually wide due to high volitility and consequent momentum overshoots.

I'm going to ask my friend Three-Fingered Louie to pay him a visit. :) EDIT: Too late. Stopped out for -1.5 points. So much for "we've seen the highs of the day." :( EDIT: Wave, your model is looking better and better!

Hope you're right. Yipes! Looks like someone tossed a hand grenade into the outhouse. Missed my stop by one tick. I doubt I'll be that lucky next time. Somebody forgot to take their Valium today. :) EDIT: Hey, whoever is buying ES like crazy in 200+ car lots, CUT THAT OUT!!! :D

Sticking a tentative toe in the water here: S 1478.50 BS 1480.00 (1.5 points) PT 1460.00 (8.5 points) or hold into overnight session Not sure if I can trade this volatility with my usual close (1-2 point) stops. And if Wave's model is right, this definitely won't work.

Well, if you mean me, I just got back last night from a two-week trip that precluded me from trading. Today's my first day back online during RTH and I'm on the sidelines until I have a chance to do some S/R homework. If you don't mean me, then (in the immortal words of Emily Litella) never...

Yeah, isn't it just a BITCH to be patient? Seriously, it has to be one of the most difficult skills a trader has to master. That, and accepting losses.

Whew! I'm exhausted!!! :) EDIT: Wow, look at the volume between 3:50 and 4:00 ET. That's gotta be the ES version of an orgasm. :D

Don'cha just love it when Spec starts a sentence with the word "Never..."? :) I remember in high school that if you were taking a multiple-choice exam and you hadn't a clue what the right answer was, you could be certain that any answer containing "never" or "always" was the wrong answer...

I'm right with ya, but I'm worried about the stop. We were a tad early. It's gonna be a squeaker.

If there's going to be another shorting opportunity today, this has to be it... Not enough. Gotta go higher. One more spike up on volume????? Nope, not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent... EDIT: Now THAT's more like it!

What happened to wild options Wednesday? Where did the "oomph" go? I just knew it! All the excitement is going to happen tomorrow when I'm aloft and incommunicado. Rats.

"They" haven't been very impressive doing either one so far, have "they"? Maybe it's time to call in the first string?
