-39 to -6 to -22. Shutting down now. Too many mistakes. Paying too much attention to PnL and cutting winners short trying to get green. Yes, I know how ridiculous that is. Held 1 to target and cut several short. The stats I'm keeping now are my results vs. trading plan results. That is, the...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Note to self: If you are unsure as to what to do (when looking for an entry) then it likely means there are no valid trades. Your knowledge of your set ups is good enough that YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THEM WHEN THEY SHOW UP.

Yes. Patience , focus, accept uncertainty, and don't increase those targets

:D:D If we're in the same trades I know I'm doing something right. ==== Ended up only those two trades today. Hesitated on the 10:53 short. The PB wasn't as clean as I'd like with the doji's and HL.

Thank you, we're doing good work. I've certainly been through the periods of negative reinforcement when I thought I was doing the right thing. Hopefully going forward , now that I'm doing more correct , disciplined trading and keeping better stats, when I hit that rough patch it will be a bit...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Wow, this trade blew me away. Barely time to test my discipline but I was feeling fairly relaxed and observant. Was wondering if my entry bar high would be taken out then Boom target. I'm growing quite fond of CL. Volatile due to Inventory #'s. Time to re-focus.

As long as it's about trading there's no tangents to worry about. Post away, KP. As for doing the 'opposite': One can't simply start buying instead of selling. Maybe the optimal opposite behavior would be to use a larger stop rather than smaller. Or hold a trade longer rather than take quick...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Astonishing to think how many lives we live within a minute bar - let alone 4 1/2 minutes. Boy, that's the truth. Why was the last trade "especially gratifying" Because I did what I was supposed to do and it worked. I needed that positive reinforcement. Strangely I felt more in control by...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Took 5 trades and all were managed well. (One questionable entry I need to review.) Not that they were all profitable and only 1 went fully to target. Still the discipline and plan worked and I got paid again. Last trade (attached) was especially gratifying. Thought about lowering target (for...

I'm proud of my trading today. Not without error but the keys I was focusing on today I accomplished. I lowered my targets based on S/R , which is allowed, and I kept them there. No increasing or changing targets. Error was improper stop placement which caused loss and mild frustration which I...

Thanks, guys ! ====== I've been thinking about the rats Nodoji has talked about. You know, the experiment with the T-Maze and random reward but biased to favor the left. Rats figure it out quick and always go left getting the reward 60% ** of the time. Humans in same experiment try to out...

jasinhbca's quest for discipline, knowledge & profits

Thank you. Extremely, extremely well said. Since i've started this journal I've always approached trading as a process of learning and gradual improvement. Like learning an instrument or sport. I still think the skills/knowledge of trading are acquired that way. I assumed my discipline would...

As my wife just said, "if you have a target why did you move it ? " Maybe i should talk to her more often about trading. I did not do my job properly at all today. Oh well, review later and back at it stronger next week.

The CL trade-of-the-day so far has been Patience. At least for me. Good trading to you.

I think the woulda, couldas either are coming as a reminder of what I should be doing or as a way to impress my ego. Either way it's not necessary. Done with the woulda's.. ==== +1 on 1 trade today. Great job of patience on a pretty choppy day. Happy thanksgiving traders !

2 CL trades +6. Mistake on first trade not exiting sooner; -11. Better on second, nice patience but should have been quicker to adjust target ;+17. Which means trust the method and follow it with better discipline. More discipline ! But good trading.
