    implied probability distribution

Options give a good clue, but is that really it? Can't you do something with just price and volume of the underlying?

    implied probability distribution

I was just thinking. Let's say a (liquid) stock is trading at $100 per share. That means that the average opinion right now is that the stock should be worth $100. But you don't know anything else about people's opinions. It could be that 50% think it should be trading at $90 and only 10%...

    a problem about probability

Some coins have a double headed eagle on one side and a human head on the other. I guess you could call them triple headed coins.

Einstein's puzzle: Can you sovle it?

I suspected it might be "college math" level in the US. Where I come from, it would only be considered non-trivial in high school. Or maybe some of the fields in which you can get a degree without ever progressing past high-school level thinking (like literature or history).

Einstein's puzzle: Can you sovle it?

You don't need to make the assumption that the green house is next to the white one. It follows from the original clues.

First smart thing I heard on CNBC this year

If I had the choice, I would pick health first, then profit, then happiness. But above all, of course, a pair of fat succulent boobies. Same to you!

First smart thing I heard on CNBC this year

I always try to imagine it was me. Let's say I have an idea to make a certain kind of toy robot. I need $200,000 to start production and distribution and I put in $50,000 of my own money. Now I can tell my millionaire friend if he gives me money, I will make him part owner of the toy robot...

    $.01 per share execution

Somehow I must have lost the ability to understand humans. This thread doesn't make more sense to me than a random combination of ASCII characters. Have you ever tried to apply TST to the 28.8 GSTA or do all the EBs just crank up their ETLs?

    Patterns that don't work anymore

I tend to agree. I believe that all standard patterns and indicators provide no edge at all. But when you trade one or some of them and you "do it right" you can be profitable. When you look of how much on average you make per trade, you will most likely find out (if you are a good trader)...

As long as computers don't take over too much volume.

    Any NYSE specialists?

Is anyone here a specialist or has ever been one? I would like to know what it all looks like through the eyes of a specialist. All I know is some specialists seem to "work with me" and try to fill me right at the top/bottom, almost as if to reward me for helping them provide liquidity...

For listed stocks, how do i direct my order to

I second that! I have never had the displeasure of trading through datek, but considering the little experience I have had with unethical if not illegal practices at Island (which is owned by the same people as datek; I wonder why they send all customer orders there...) I would close my datek...

    Any commodity/soybeans traders around?

No, but somebody suggested to move to Minneapolis and trade wheat on the Minnesota Grain Exchange. Maybe I should do that.

    How much do traders earn?

I wouldn't mind making a market with someone else's capital, especially if I can get a percentage of the profits.
