Study shows U.S. bank CEO pay dwarfs rest of world

I think the point here is that shitty performance should equal shitty pay, but that doesn't seem to be the case with these banks. They reap the rewards, but offer nothing in return. It has little to do with envy.

Study shows U.S. bank CEO pay dwarfs rest of world

True, but $6.5 million compared to $20 million? American CEO's are still overpaid.

    USA Today "End the Fed"

Only because no regime can be trusted to print just enough money to reflect the amount in gold reserves. A fiat currency system can work, but someone needs to tell congress that they can't have anymore money.

Why can't I get a job? Recent Grad, 3.7 GPA, Good Exp, Year and a half of searching..

How long ago? Engineers, on average, haven't seen an increase in salary in terms of real wages since the early 1990s. They're notorious for starting at a high salary early in their career and then hitting a glass ceiling 5-10 years later. You may have made $145k, but that's definitely not...

55% of those in college are women though, possibly higher. Although most of them go for stupid liberal arts majors, nursing, or to get their "M.R.S." degree.

Why did the US send so much work overseas?

He clearly lives in Fantasy Land. I live in Florida. Even a few hundred miles northwest from here, you couldn't afford a 3500 square foot house on a $35k/year salary in the Alabama backwoods. So, I call bullshit.

Why did the US send so much work overseas?

Where your brother lives, $35k likely isn't the median salary. It's probably closer to $25k. Can someone who makes $20-25k afford the same things? Doubtful. In fact, someone who makes $25k probably couldn't even afford a 1200 square foot house and one kid.

Senior Human Rights Watch Analyst - Nazi lover

Still just a symbol. I'll leave symbols to the symbol-minded (George Carlin). Honestly, I'd be more worried about people like Rahm Emanuel whose father was an Israeli terrorist, not some crazy-ass Nazi wannabe. This guy is no different than the hillbilly vermin who reenact civil war battles...

    New accounting standards for banks...

Unless you live in the middle of Wyoming or something, it's highly unlikely that anybody could afford to do that, except for doctors. The 20% minimum down payment would be fine and worked very well for a long time. Require 100% cash and real estate prices would plunge. It'd get pretty ugly.

Why did the US send so much work overseas?

I have a degree and took all the bullshit econ courses in college. I understand perfectly how it's supposed to work "in theory". You claim that "we keep the highest paying jobs here". I call bullshit. Engineering, accounting, and programming were once high paying jobs. Those can easily be...

Why did the US send so much work overseas?

The US will look like something in between Mexico/Brazil and what it currently looks like, as will most of the world. The ultimate goal for these corporations is to eliminate every inefficiency that once existed in the market. Without those inefficiencies, the little guy won't stand a chance...

Why did the US send so much work overseas?

Umm, profits? Cheap labor = greater profit margin The economists will spout some bullshit about comparative advantage of course. Thing is, those "cost savings" don't always result in lower prices for the consumer. Same with union/non-union labor in the construction industry. Non-union...
