Pain of trading during shifting markets

I don’t know man, this kind of “unpredictable” up one day down the order is only good for day traders. But even day traders are not going as good as last year.

Pain of trading during shifting markets

I think as long as it’s persistent, you can learn to adopt. The difficult periods, imho, are the transitions like we are witnessing now. Are we still in bull market? Are we in sideways market? Are we in a bear market already? You may say that long-term we are obviously in a strong bull market...

Pain of trading during shifting markets

This is in Psychology section, so if you not into that, don’t bother watching.

I'm going to mostly cash in Long-Term portfolio

The difference between gold and Bitcoin is that if I am trying to “escape,” they will take my golden rings and teeth but they may not accept my cold wallet. It’s for emergencies, not for everyday barter.

I'm going to mostly cash in Long-Term portfolio

I’m not sure what you describe is a hedge in a conventional sense. For example Long Short funds are always long something and short something. Some periods they more net long and others more net short. They make money on fluctuations both way.

    Envy of missing out lol

I'm going to mostly cash in Long-Term portfolio

It’s too early to tell if we did the right thing, imho. I want to see dip buyers get hurt. Watching cryptos to see how diamond those hands really are. Meanwhile, I will be selling CSP on stocks that are getting clobbered.

Fed will aggressively dial back its monthly bond buying, sees three rate hikes next year

Ok, would you mind presenting a case that would make you bearish (reduce exposure, hedge, get out) on US equities?

Fed will aggressively dial back its monthly bond buying, sees three rate hikes next year

I respectfully disagree. I consider myself a sentiment trader, so it’s important what is being fed to the public and how policy makers react to events. If you are a buy-and-hold investor, then you don’t even need to be a part of any financial form at all.

Fed will aggressively dial back its monthly bond buying, sees three rate hikes next year

I agree but I think they will roll the put deeper OTM. How deep? That’s what I am waiting to find out.

Best way to pick strike price for covered calls?

I think it’s very important to know yourself and accept the outcomes. When 2008 crisis hit, I felt “betrayed” by the financial system and I said to myself: I don’t care if I underperform the market, but I will never trust the establishment again with my money. It’s much easier for me to forgive...

Fed will aggressively dial back its monthly bond buying, sees three rate hikes next year

Sounds like everyone is concerned with run-away inflation, no? Hyper-inflation hits poor people (people who don’t own assets) the most, so politicians don’t like it in the headlines.

Fed will aggressively dial back its monthly bond buying, sees three rate hikes next year

My question is - can inflation be contained without slowing the rise in asset prices? Do they need to gently deflate the markets?

Quite frustrated with myself. Was looking to sell $925 put expiring this week (TSLA hit low of $928 today) but didn't pull the trigger - was waiting for a bit more "panicky" move. May not get another opportunity till the end of the year. Very good chance my $990 put will become OTM and...

I’m curious how you came up with this? Was it something that showed good results in back testing?

So nike bought a company that makes digital sneakers for the hyped up metaverse

No, no we need all that! As far as Nike getting on this trend, I think it’s a good move. You will see popular virtual designs spill over into real world. Just another way to market your products.
