Bitcoin Could Hit $100,000 if Investors Treat It Like Gold, Goldman Sachs Says

Don’t care about what GS says. Are Pawn Shops taking it? Watch Pawn Shops, they definitely take gold.

Right, have you seen 2600 contracts displayed for these options? Also, below makes me think it was not a YOLO trade:

    Intraday estimation of daily volume

Average based on current day? I don’t think that’s what he needs, but cool feature. ESignal?

    Calculation of historical/realized volatility

Using tick data as apposed to the Close of the day? So you used some combination High/Low/Close? Also, do you mind explaining what it means to simulate scalping gamma? You mean you used your calculations to better price options, so you were essentially Market Making? When you say "convert...

Oh important disclaimer - I assume I may get assign shares, so account size is large enough for that.

    TEVA puts

The OP said “lifted offer.” You are saying there was testing offer of 2600 contracts to be lifted?

How does a retail guy go about sweeping ~2600 puts for $0.07? Could it simply been a hedge?
  9. Q

    Fair disclosure

So you are saying you will stop trading low float stocks? What about a thick stock gapping on news? Sh*t happens all the time, doesn’t necessarily means it’s a mistake, imho. Now if you position size it assuming sh*t doesn’t happen, that would be a legitimate mistake.
  10. Q

    TEVA puts

I doubt it. Retail traders can’t just buy so many contracts in one shot. This had to be done through some desk, hence the insider connection.

You guys backed out of the challenge :) How much better would this thread be if you and @newwurldmn tried to trade out of the “bad leg!?” But probably a waste of time for you guys.

    Intraday estimation of daily volume

I remember listening to some interview and the guy (I think automated trader from SMB) was saying that they accumulate statistics on volume at every interval for every stock. So for example they can tell you avg volume for AAPL from 9:30 to 9:31 etc.

BTW, I had orders out today to sell weekly puts on CRM and ROKU. I wanted too much for them (50% of premium I paid for longs), so naturally I didn’t get filled :) Maybe if we have a down day where volatility actually spikes!?

It’s live. Account size does not matter because this are just R&D trades. I just trade one lot to see what happens. But obviously my account is large enough to take these hits. How much I made or lost is also irrelevant. I am obviously experimenting here and don’t recommend this as a strategy or...

Thanks for answering and welcome (as a poster). If it works for you great, I don’t see why time of the move have any persistent consistency. Are you saying that according to your data, you shorted NET today?

    Let's talk about loneliness

I am also not sure if what he is (was?) doing qualifies as “arbitrage” As far as loneliness with three young kids - I don’t get it. When my kids were young, I had no time with all the activities(also met lots of people while waiting for classes to end). @tonyf, feel free to ignore this...

    Intraday estimation of daily volume

Isn’t high volume caused by high volatility? If so, wouldn’t you rather track volatility? Also, why are you correlating volume with trend? I am not sure I follow your premise.
  18. Q

    Time is Money

So you are basically shorting low float stocks?
  19. Q

    Alice in Optionsland

Sorry for confusion. TSLA trade is pretty much done. It will most likely scratch. I am trying to set up earnings plays for ROKU and CRM with long straddle/strangle expiring in March. I already bought the puts and now waiting to buy the calls on a down day.
  20. Q

    Alice in Optionsland

Well, everything I do is a directional bet. My premise for establishing straddle/strangle is that the stock will be sideways till earrings, so I am waiting for a down day to buy the calls. Of course there’s a chance the stock just moves higher and runs away from me.
