How to choose the right system for the current market?

Doesn't it make a lot more sense to allocate more money in a system that is currently in a drawdown, based on the assumption that it will come out of that drawdown?

    Forex trading is difficult!!!

With a 29% modeling quality, that backtest is useless. MT's backtester is not very reliable and doesn't look inside the bar. The highest you can get is 90% with 1 min data. I wouldn't trust the results.

    What moving average is this?

I was thinking the same thing. It has to be linear regression. I have an indicator that does something similar in a different charting program, but I may need to reprogram it. As you said, his method seems very logical, but there are a few things that I don't understand. Take this chart...

Drummond Dot System - Has anyone heard of this?

I'm interested as well. I remember reading some of the PDFs about Drummond from the Ted Tick site a while ago. I'm 21. Been trading for a few years unsuccessfully, and I'd like to learn this method. Are there any courses or seminars in or around the Chicago area?

    WTF!!!! $$$ Drops its pants!!

Sounds like somebody lost their ass. :D No surprise really. Expect it to drop even further. Euro attempted several times to break support and failed, and now the last swing high was taken out at about 1.1760. I think we'll see at least 1.19 next week.

    Can We Talk About Entries

They are less reliable if coming off a major support/resistance level. I still take the trade though. I don't care. The problem with trading pullbacks to a moving average is that the retracement may be deeper than you'd think it should be, or sometimes it won't even touch the moving average...

    Can We Talk About Entries

Sure, I can miss out on a lot of retracements. I'm trading forex though. Mostly eur/usd, and the stoch seems to oscillate to the extremes much more often than it does on the YM.

    Can We Talk About Entries

The stochs just have to be below 30 if I'm looking for longs and above 70 if I'm looking for shorts. I'm then looking for a doji or a hammer and enter on the close of that candle.

    Can We Talk About Entries

I just enter on pullbacks in the direction of a trend. I define trend using a simple oscillator that's based off of the slope of a moving average. I then use Stochs (5,3,3) to look for pullbacks. When the stochs are below 30, I'm looking for longs. When they're above 70, I'm looking for...

Do you buy breakouts or pullbacks?

Pullbacks. I hate breakouts. I usually always end up buying the top or selling the bottom when I trade breakouts.
